70% disposal efficiency last year, would have taken that yesterday instead of either Harbrow or Hanley.

Also it highlights Burgoyne would have been a valuable acquisition last year.
I thought Atkins was a winger, don't know how much defending he does.

I just thought of Christian Salem as a trade target for the Lions and it occurred to me, with Harbow and Hanley in their final year/s he would be an ideal target for the Suns as well. If you added Salem and Zac Williams as a FA that would really improve your run and carry from the backline and release Bowes further up the field again.

We should make a decision and stick to it with 2MP. His value is as high as its going to get. If we can trade him and turn him into a good half back we should pull that trigger.

I love 2MP but it might me better if he plays elsewhere if it can get us a good piece.

Agree.

If King/Day get injured who you got forward? Corbett? He is still only 23 and pretty good in the ruck. With a better delivery he will be hard to stop. Day 29 next year not much better. We can keep 3 talls. Unless Wright requests trade I would keep him.

If we could turn Wright into a very good experienced HB to replace Hanley/Harbrow we should be doing it.

I know we probably don't like the idea of losing him, but he has some decent value at the moment, the longer he doesn't play though, the longer his value drops.

Hey K
The HSun mentions top30 pick.. I presume you would think thats a bit light. I agree on him not playing hurts his value... can you see him getting games?

Not ideal, down side of having such a good young kid in King I guess

By all reports Corbett has been performing better than 2MP anyway, so yeah, I would play him. If Day gets injured and Corbett can't play then we can just roll with King as our tall forward - plenty of other sides manage with just one. Or we can try Luko there again, who's now a bit stronger.

If 2MP wants to stay at the club for another 2-3 years without a guarantee of playing 1s and wants to keep challenging Day for that position, then that's great. But I suspect he doesn't want to do that. We need to be on top of that given that it's pretty clear now that Day has secured that second forward spot, hence the trading him at max value.

If we wait another year until he's falling out of contract, then our hand gets weaker as he probably loses even more value.

Yeah ideally I would prefer an early 2nd rounder for him or a player to fill a gap in our team (HBF or key defender), though I am not in the club and don't know the situation or what they expect. Over the next 30 days with a lot of games squeezed together he may get a few games, also if the current formation begins to stagnate a bit, Dew might look to go 3 talls at some point to stretch defenses.

But at 23, the man probably wants to be playing AFL games, and the Suns don't want to be paying a bloke decent wages to just kick about in scratchies all year. I think come towards the end of the season the picture around Wright will be a lot clearer.

Corbett needs to play a few senior games this season to see if he can hold his own. But for me he only plays if we decide to re-structure the forward line with a 3rd tall mobile target.

And at the moment 2MP only plays if King/Day get injured.

Both are in a holding pattern... but 2MP does fit our current forward structure much better than Corbett.

But Vic clubs will definitely circle 2MP, Brodie & maybe Fiorini offering more opportunity. No different to us chasing players that fit our needs.

And who knows how potential list squeezes may influence our list management 🤷‍♂️

Yes you make a descent case... no club really wants players clogging Scap in the 2nd's, sometimes you take what you get and move on and the win is the cap space.

Id have thought you may have a young kid that would be the go for the BLine. Your young kids are so exciting but perhaps you feel its time to go mature again? Maybe if you have cash to splash..chase a FA like Corr, Williams or a FA from the Crows?

Geelong was mentioned in the article IF we can't get Cameron ... however Hawkins will probably be around fro another couple and we have Sav, Id think short term he might get more chance at the other club mentioned especially if they loose Daniher.

What a bizarre year.
We actually have valuable players not getting a game, and promising draftees that are not in the team.

The main reason that 2MP is not playing is b/v King and Day are playing well and playing well together.
Brodie is not playing b/c other mids are training and playing better.

Of course, if anybody could play off half-back they would be straight in!

If Pete had to leave, i would prefer if we could straight swap for a half back defender He's real close with Touk so he may just stay and wait his turn. Can really only see Corbett as the 3rd tall, i reckon he could take Macpherson role at the moment. Would be a better link up aerially.

Few players i would target in general;(most not realistic but worth a crack)
Rory Laird, Brodie Smith, Alex Witherden, Brayden Maynard, Zac Williams, James Sicily, Christan Salem, Michael Hibberd, Hamish Hartlett, Jayden Short, Hunter Clark, Callum Mills, Liam Duggan.

This was offered by Cameron wasn't it?

My god what a disaster that would have been.

Hopefully GHS didn't get that 5 year deal instead
Presumably was the end of 2018.

Can you imagine having to pay that spud until age 32. Would be getting the Corey Ellis treatment for 5 years.
"Wanted to go to a finals contender" How do the North VFL team go?
