Perkins at 4???

Here we go.

If we are keen on Perkins we may as well try and trade 4 & 24 for the Bombers 6 & 7/8.

You'd expect that Perkins would be the fall back option if we don't have the ability to draft Hollands. I'd be ok with it at 4, but if we can trade down as has been suggested. That would be ideal.

If this was in fact a decoy leak specifically targeted at the * then Wright could very well be aiming to trade picks 4 + 24 them for picks 6 + 8 which could result in the following scenarios:

(1) If Dodo in fact wants Perkins that bad then he gets him with pick 4.

Now assuming the draft goes:

1. ADE - Thilthorpe, 2. NTH - McDonald, 3. SYD - DGB, 4. ESS - Perkins, 5. GC - Phillips, 6. HAW Hollands*

*We then use pick 8 on the best remaining talent along with Hollands.



(2) In this scenario Dodo pulls a swifty and takes Hollands instead.

In this scenario the draft goes:

1. ADE - Thilthorpe, 2. NTH - McDonald, 3. SYD - DGB, 4. ESS - Hollands, 5. GC - Phillips, 6. HAW Perkins*

*Once again we use pick 8 on the best remaining talent along with Perkins who assumedly was our target all along.

So they reckon Bombers will bid on Campbell with their second pick out of their first three? Doesn't make much sense. If they really want him then it makes sense to use the first of the three picks to bid as it will cost the Swans slightly more to match, maximising the very slim chance that they decide not to.
