I think if you're going to talk about ages at seasons end then it should be as of October 31 as that is when contracts end and players are generally either moved on or retained by then.
If we were to retain all our current players we would have 12 players aged 28 or older heading into the 2021 season with 3 of them being 32 and as much as we would like the guys to go on forever I'm hoping that we will be taking the opportunity as 2020 unfolds to be blooding the younger kids we're looking at as the long term replacements, but it must be done on the proviso that their form warrants being selected, as that is what will keep us bringing through quality players.
Adding to that, with the younger kids I think we've shown that it doesn't necessarily mean much if you're picked in the first round or as a rookie, you will get your chance in the side if you earn it and you will keep it if you continue to perform even at the expense of higher rated players.
