Of all the implications to come from this match: the pathetic defensive display from the midfield, the insipid second/third efforts from most forwards, the inability of Docherty to handle a football, the ongoing pitiful goalkicking from Cripps, Casboult's woeful aerial display, the deplorable intensity of Dow, Martin's inexplicable pass to Cripps...

We've managed to single out Plowman again?

Well said sir.

Just stick Papley in the midfield then. I swear people just look at stats - he's absolutely played as a goal kicking mid at times
we need a midfielder who can consistently get it 20-30 times a game, not another flash in the pan midfielder.

Paddy Dow is as much chance of being at Carlton next year as Donald Trump has of being re-elected as US President..

So more of a blue collar mid? Don't necessarily disagree, would you prefer a Brad Crouch then?

Ollie Wines should be our port of call if we need a blue collar mid.

Brad Crouch has had too many soft tissue injuries to even be considered as a target.

His last one would be a major warning sign to prospective clubs.

Soft tissue injuries only get worse as you age.

I wouldn't prefer him but he'd be handy despite being an accumulator. Someone who we know will have no trouble getting the footy if Cripps is having a down game.

At the moment if Cripps is down we rely on Setterfield who is still inconsistent and Ed Curnow who will be retired soon.

We have enough blokes who can have cameos in the midfield - Fisher, Martin, Cuningham, Gibbons.

Need a full-timer imo. Walsh will take the next step next year but someone along side him also.

$2 with SB lol
Let’s play him rest of the year, I’d be disappointed if he was let go

Mate he has had more than enough ample opportunities at the Blues (in my opinon)

If he hasn't made it by now, he never will (as a top line player) at our club.

Both parties need a fresh start.

20 years old.

20.

And you're willing to push him out the door?

Staggering.

Are we cutting O’Brien too? They’re still kids who have only had 2 proper years on the list. Imo to cut them now is too soon
little harm in keeping them when their trade value is nothing

If the price is right (aka part of a Papley or Wines trade) yes.

Just my 2c though, doubt the think tank at CFC will listen to me though..

I think LOB has more potential/be a better player than Dow long term, i wouldn't be trading him.

Just my opinion as a keen football fan and observer, I don't proclaim to be some kind of List Manger or Draft Guru, there is no doubt Paddy Dow has a lot of talent, but is it unreasonable to expect we should have seen more from Dow (a top 3 draft pick) by now ?

You are so off the mark it's actually laughable

He was poor, but so were a fair number of other players

Dow will be at Carlton next year

I think that Covid-19 has had a detremental affect upon our captain. Maybe he feels really far from his home, he hasn't been "on" all year. I note he also has a contract on the table yet to be signed. Bit of a doomsday prophecy btu I have an inkling he may request a trade "home" this year. Thing is I would expect nothing short of a Juddy scenario inasmuch as he would go to the best deal for Carlton. Maybe Fisher would also be inclined to throw his hat in the ring to accompany him home.
In this Doomsday Prophecy what could we expect from each W.A. team?
Could West Coast be tempte to include their McGov and Gaff/Petruccelle plus their first round pick for both Crippa and Fisher?
Or the Shockers offer up their first pick (will be low), a second plus Cerra and Henry for the two blues?
Toasters built a Premiership around the Juddy trade, we barely played finals, who won that big call?

Plowman has to be dropped - probably axed. I'd rather see the club develop someone else than see Plowman in the side again. Enough is enough, I don't mean to harp on or deliberately make him a whipping boy, but he is just NOT AFL standard. He's a one trick pony who's only strength is playing in front of slower players. He is absolutely rubbish one on one and can't keep up with faster/more agile players. Dropping Coterall for Poulson was a mistake but I thought Dow had an OK game. We need to target a decent defender to replace Plowman - Maybe Landgon is gettable.
100% agree he is massively overrated
Any smart opposition coach would go through his man and expose him one on one
I'd love someone like Liam Baker in our backline

We are still last for disposal efficiency

Mids that can hit targets/foot speed, please

I will say that the gameplan, while being exciting when it clicks, it also lends to the poor disposal

We need to find a better balance, targeting the right players, refining the gears of the gameplan
