Id like us to do what arrow said and go for that Grainger-barras bloke or however you spell it. I still think the side can win a flag we just need a st kilda style of offseason. I think i have decided that we shouldnt go for papley. Simply too much to give up for a small forward. I would like us to go for free agents, get cheap deals like withedren in trades and keep our top 5-8 draft pick. Not giving up yet, i still see it

That’s why I said helps speed at least. He looks to have bulked a bit too. Would love Papley and Perryman. Papley might give us a bit of mongrel that we lack too.

Don’t worry about Papley. He is not what we essentially need.

Moore is a top 10 target in the league for me. Perfect age in a position of need.

Not sure how gettable he is though, since he seems to love the club and they've specifically put money aside for both him and DeGoey.

At the same time if you can't dominate a reserves scratch match in your 2nd/3rd years you don't get a spot in the 1s.

Its such a huge step up in speed.

Guys like Dow and LOB need to earn their spots, Dows kicking hurts us so much more in the 1s as does LOBs inability to impact a physical contest. There's no reason these guys shouldn't be tearing it up in the 2nds, yet from all reports Moore and Polson are outperforming them.

Apparently he's been playing quite well off Half Back. Would certainly add some speed and tackling. Kicking still a worry.

Yep, Kelly and Petrucelle from that list for me.

An elite mid and a player with outside run and kicking distance.

You don’t give up two firsts (assumed for Papley) for a small forward. You do for a Kelly.
Small forwards are a nice to have, but they don’t win you premierships.

Our forward set-up revolves around marking bigs, need to identify B grade smalls similar to Butler to support them. That will be enough.

We‘d be selling the farm for Papley in my opinion.

I expect our 2020 1st to be pick 5, so think that and a 2nd or 3rd gets Papley.

We won't be playing finals and I'd suggest Melbourne and Hawthorn will be above us on the ladder at the end of the year.

I think he is. With Betts likely only playing this year, we really have a need for a small forward who can kick multiple goals and create for others.

If he was on our list we probably would have scored another 20 goals. Simply put, we would be well and truly in the finals hunt with that scoring power.

Fact of the matter is we beat them, let their supporters and the media make excuses.

Although it is a hypothetical it is also why it’s hard to go penciling wins in for our side atm. We are still at the point where an injury or two to the wrong players could be huge. Hawthorn getting some really strong ins hurt us, Freo have maybe 4-5 who might get back for our game. God forbid if Cripps gets injured we probably couldn’t pencil in any game.

Absolutely.

There are very few certain results this year, even fewer involving Carlton given our fluctuations. Our best is good enough to beat any side in the competition, our worst is bad enough to get spanked by Adelaide.

There are though games we should win, and games we probably aren't expected to.
