As much if not more that Fisher has, and in a more successful team

Thought you were going to try give me something of substance.

The reality is though he has done very little outside of one game, perhaps in his first season.

The team he plays in has nothing to do with it.

Fisher for Petruccelle would be an awful outcome for us, and I like Jack.

You forgot to consider the 2 players we would have got at pick 3 & 20. Who knows what could have happened, no point dwelling over the past, but you need include all the facts.
We would of most likely taken Masten too which would’ve most likely meant we would’ve never had a midfield anywhere near good enough to ever compete. Keeping Kennedy and not going after Judd wouldn’t have solved our only real issue and that was not bringing in enough talent post 2007 from poor recruiting.

This is pretty much where I didn't want us to end up...and maybe it's not too late yet, but to not know what we need and to acquire talent for talents sake alone, is a bad place to be in.
The professionals at the club would have a clearer view than for any of us here, but one wouldn't want to be flip-flopping on what we need, come years end.

It's not now that we just want to become competitive but to aspire to being a key finals player for years to come.
It's tricky after performances of the calibre we saw yesterday....really tricky and for all the names being raised, I feel it will come down to two players that may have s real outcome on our immediate future....it won't be five players. We really have to make the right call for the right time, for the right game, for the right coach.
Totally agree 200% As I mentioned last year trade trade fir the obvious weakness target players that we require for the now we are past the initial rebuild where we needed quality in every position and took the best available I don’t want to stockpile fir the sake of stockpiling like gws Let’s go down the Geelong path and trade for immediate weaknesses
We can debate til the cows come home but knowing Eddys in the forward line This year does fill teammates and supporters With hope that we’ll score when the ball goes down there cause you know we’ll be dangerous
Even at his age he still takes their best
Defender
Imagine if he was 5 years younger in our current team play eddy next to either Walters or Papley for a year opposition coaches nightmare .
Get Walters offer 1st plus or
Papley offer O’Brien 😉 plus 1st and do it at the start of trade not in last 30 seconds that will allow us to concentrate on other needs fir the rest of the draft
Don’t try the Essendon model which would be to try and get Papley and offer pick 80 And stuff around for the sake of being in the media spotlight Decent clubs must laugh at clubs who try and posture for the sake of posturing if we don’t act now we’ll be the new Melb
rebuild after rebuild rudderless ship and 60 70 year old supporters still suffering from the hey day of the 50s and 60s.
We can’t wait and hope someone on our list comes on year after year
have a feeling we’ll be the new Melbourne for the next 20 years unless we stop stuffing around
We were a great club and admired and feared we no longer are the sooner we get back To being the intimidator not the intimidated the better
Be bold be brave Carlton today
Austin pick up the phone and do the deals now

And thinking we simply beat Sydney and Freo is a dangerous avenue to take. Hell, we nearly lost to the Kangaroos and they have been injury ravaged. Add Cunnington to that game and I think we lose.
And what if we had Harry Charlie Kemp philp lob Dow Marchy Kreuzer sos? Most of those guys are in our best team as soon as next year. Come on now don’t be silly

Looking at our appalling development issues at the time, I'd be very surprised if Carlton Kennedy would have become the player West Coast Kennedy has.

We desperately need some leg speed out of defence.

We do and and have done for some time now and if Williams fits that bill, let's please go hard...really hard.

Would be unusual for us to be primarily targeting two players in Papley and Williams, who both came off the rookie list. Not our usual style :)

Harker, how on one hand can you not know what we stand for and on the other be unhappy with where we find ourselves?

At what point do you simply concede that it's the vibe of the thing you dislike?

I think we could "logistically" do both. Williams is a RFA so won't cost us any picks. Of course Papley will cost alot, but as I have said previously he ticks a number of boxes for us.

I said that I didn't know where we were on numerous occasions and wouldn't pretend that I know where we'll finish the season....but at some point we will.
I also gave the reasons for me feeling this way and if you want to call it a vibe.....you can do that.

Both would make for a brilliant outcome.
I don't what else to say to that but CFC - Make it happen :)

Rookie drafted players...our usual MO is previous 1st round picks.

Be nice if our own rookie picks came on but no one of note since Garlett, Ed, Levi & to a lesser extent White, Bell (but we failed at the ND).
Gibbo is the last one outside the ND.
Hopefully Cottrell gets some showtime soon & at least we’ve delved into some talented forwards in Honey (debut soon?) & Phillips this time around.
Owies some hope as our Cat B but our dysfunctional forward line could be hard to play in from the transition from the “VFL”/practice matches.

I think once you get a notion in your head it becomes remarkably difficult to shift, and you then find ways to justify them when presented with new evidence in either direction.

This is not intended as criticism, merely observation.

Not sure what that has to do with football, but if that's what you see then O.K.
I don't have an idea though as to what you're getting at in regards to my post, but that's OK too, I guess :)

So - Who should we be after?

If we had a II’s teams running around, who is going to play regular seniors?
B: Polson - BSOS - Macreadie
HB: Kemp - Goddard - Marchbank
C: Cottrell - Stocker - LOB
R: TDK - Dow - Philp
HF:Honey - X - Fisher
F: Phillips - X - Owies
Int: Ramsay - Lang - O’Dwyer

Goddard & Lang should have done their dash (ex 1st rounders).
There’s some promise in amongst & some constant injured.
KPF & D an area of concern. Charlie to return but injury concerns. Can Macreadie get our on the park & perform?
3rd & 4th years that really need to be pressing for positions to cement as their own.

Phillips?

Agree - it’s also about the silver service delivery he has received over the last decade at WC as opposed to the long bombs and clangers he would have seen at Carlton.
