What happened to Pittonet? He was next to useless yesterday. I don't think there's any chance we part ways with Kreuzer at year end, in fact we should probably be trying to trade in a better somewhat established prospect (than Pitto).

Im starting to get really worried about the output of Harry McKay.
His 5th year in the system, approaching 50 games. Putting some really poor numbers up. And what's with the constant leading to tight in the right forward pocket?
His lower-rated brother's output is now better. I'm not sure Harry's the right KPF to be pinning a lot of our hopes on.

A bigger concern than Plow getting beaten by Stephenson is a lack of meaningful alternatives capable of locking down dangerous small/medium forwards.
Agreed most wks it's the opposition smalls that beat us we desperately need some "fast"
no nonsense lock down defenders

Your right Pitto should only be on the list to play reserves and last minute backup

If losing to Collingwood taught us anything, it is retire all simpson, betts, kreuzer. Murphy I am 50/50. We don't win with them and we need to give games to our young players-who by then will be of similar standard

No pre season. Mckay will be great.

Currently Harry is the clear #1 forward and really our only dangerous forward, the opposition dont need to defend DeKonig/Pittonet when they are forward and Levi has been off a bit since a positive start to the year... Replace them with Mitch McGovern & Charlie Curnow and space opens up for Harry and it all of a sudden becomes much easier..

I think we need to replicate what the Dogs have done with Tim English with TDK.. He has shown enough to indicate he will be our #1 ruck moving forward and we need to take a few bad performances knowing that getting games into him will bring us closer to a flag. Pittonet is a great back up option to cover for injury.. Playing them both in the same side does not work..

Where does this leave Kruezar?? Is he happy to be a 3rd choice ruck? He should look for a new home, the Cats might be a good option for him, send him with our blessing.

What did you expect from Harry this season? Consider the interruptions he has had.

Harry doesn’t have to be the number one if we get everyone fit and firing anyway, though I think he’s capable.

Harry has done his best work when he gets up the ground and can lead at the ball. Charlie was always the one to take a mark in amongst a pack or sit on top of their heads. No pre season, hasnt made it to 50 games and last week he had 7 shots on goal. How do people even come to these assessments? Plowman for a bag of chips, Harry to whoever will take him... 2020 really has brought out the worst in people.

Our issues come back to our midfield applying little to no pressure on the defensive end when they tire not being able to hit targets by foot. If you fix this our defenders get the game played on their terms by having time to zone off and split contests instead of being one on one in dangerous areas. Also guys like Harry actually get the ball kicked to them where they like it instead of being expected to work miracles every game out flying blokes in a pack of 8.

Zac Williams would be an enormous addition to getting the ball forward but reality is unless we somehow muster up 4-5 first round picks and trade them all for genuine quality players we are going to have to rely on Walsh and Setterfield to get on the end of that work and step up big time by consistently hit targets inside 50 week in week out.

SPS and Stocker are unbelievably important to this team coming on, Kemp may be too but we just havent seen him in action to know just how good he can be. These 3 are probably our best 3 kicks along with LoB and none of them are playing right now.

Talk of trading Pittonet is nonsensical gibberish quite frankly (in my opinion)

You don't give up on a first year recruit after a couple of bad games.

He's definitely an athlete first and foremost.

Needs to be properly coached by someone who has an idea how to play as a key forward. Don't think Cam Bruce is the guy to take his game forward, in particular.

The currency being spoken about for Papley and Kelly would be better spent on the likes of a Petracca, who is a genuine match winner/game changer
I started that rumour in 2017...
I said...

Agree but you have to laugh at some of the posters here who confused him with John Nicholls. Just about as effective as Warnock standing there in our forward line.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with list size over the off season, sounds like it will be reduced. Some big calls will need to be made by Nick Austin and his team. I think the hard call has to be made on Simmo and Murph, with probably most of us expecting Eddie to retire at seasons end. Kreuz probably gets another 12 months if his body is right to aid development of TDK.

Simmo's been pretty good this year, but unfortunately an area of the ground we have the most depth. We've got Polson, Newman, SPS, Stocker and who knows where Marchbank fits in, all capable of playing there. Simmo playing on impedes the development of one of those players, you want your back 6-7 locked in when you're having a tilt at being a contender.

Murph is still providing a lot as an attacking mid, but as has his knock for a long time, he's just not good enough defensively. If we want to be serious next year we need to develop one of Dow, Cunners or Kennedy as full time mids. Dow and Cunners have the pace that our midfield desperately needs.
Funny how you seem to know the wages for Russel, Lloyd and now Plowman, you must be close to all of them to be told how much money they make. Potting the coaches again, singling out the LM as if he has personally wronged you by taking on the Blues job.

You love to under quote figures that suit your agenda and then overstate them the same way, but when it’s brought up that the last LM signed Charlie to $800,000 (which has been reported across multiple news sites) you seem to claim BS and it’s all bonuses.

We all know your game, everything SOS touched was gold and perfect and now everyone here are best mates, a boys club and the new LM is crap.

It’s bit like your game. Just giving you another opinion. If you don’t like what I post don’t read them. You claim to have all the answers.
Its interesting to read your last paragraph where you say “everyone here are best mates” Stop wasting our membership money. You are employed by Cain at the club so go back to work! So obvious.

We need to work out if Cuningham can play back imo, atleast he has the speed we lack and I just don’t think he is smart enough to play forward.
We are in a horrible position with our young mids. We still have no idea what we have outside of Walsh. We’ve invested so much in there and still don’t know if we have the talent yet.
fingers crossed we offer Williams an off he can’t refuse.
I would love us to chase B Smith or if all else fails Polec. We need that type desperately.
I’m still on Papley big time. We need another goal kicker. Jack Martin doesn’t do it enough and Fisher has kicked multiple goals once in his life. The biggest reason we need him is because we seem to have to play in such a risky manner to be able to give ourselves a chance to score. Put more talent up forward and play a more defensive style.

Agree on this
Jono Brown for 2 days a week over the summer please

Laird, Kelly and Williams and Papley should be our targets this year, wines to a lesser extent although he is having a great year, you cant play Cripps Wines Kemp and Setterfield at the same time.

Laird takes simmos spot
Williams takes Plowmans spot with Willo our 190cm 3rd tall
Kelly obviously to the midfield with Jack Martin whos fwd 50 spot is taken by Papley.

Dream trade period there i know but i feel that would have a port/brissie type improvement.....

Harry seems to player better when we don't have a lumbering ruckman resting up forward. Gives him more space to lead into.

3 x taller players can work up forward, but the 3rd tall needs to be a McGovern type who's mobile and doesn't get in the way of the other two from making a contest.

Too often it feels like we get sucked into bombing the ball blindly inside forward 50 when we're playing 3 imposing targets up forward.

Looks good, but say goodbye to the first round until around 2031! :D
