Our issues come back to our midfield applying little to no pressure on the defensive end when they tire not being able to hit targets by foot. If you fix this our defenders get the game played on their terms by having time to zone off and split contests instead of being one on one in dangerous areas. Also guys like Harry actually get the ball kicked to them where they like it instead of being expected to work miracles every game out flying blokes in a pack of 8.
This is right on the money and represents the venom I spew watching us every week. Ed aside (and he is limited), our mids refuse to be accountable for their direct opponents. Defensively you have two choices, man-marking or defending space (zones) at stoppages. Our blokes do neither. The modern game is won and lost in midfield and our inability to develop, recruit or trade for quality midfielders is exposed almost every week.
