This will catch up some clubs.

I'm glad we are in rebuild mode at this time as we should remain comfortably within thr smaller cap then pick up some Pies like freebies in a couple of years when we are looking to make finals again... as this will catch up with some clubs.

Except that the minute it looks like we might benefit, the VFL will introduce an amnesty and let every club be over the salary cap for a few years. That way, just as we look like competing, some Melbourne based club will be able to recruit and massively overpay their salary cap to cut us off.

Leith is alright from memory. Surely if they were interested in keeping Bicks he'd have learned how to run the board. His conflict as a paid employee was magnified in such a sh*t year especially with Rowie being so prone to emotional outburst. I reckon AA wouldn't see any financial value in cowtowing to the club as well.

Classic AFL

As I've been saying, what's the point of dumping 2 off the list when it's obviously going to be the bottom end players and saving per club sub $200k. All the rooting around and unknowingness over such a paltry saving. I reckon it was bloody mindedness, there's no logical reason, especially when you take into account what looks like a transition to AFL reserves comp. Clubs should be wanting a semi-pro type list where the players earn about $40k to undertake a stripped down version of the full program.

Hmm no ratings have been fairly stable but Covid has massively cut their advertising dollars.

They've also made a few producers redundant too. Mid Dawns were axed too. But that was before Covid.
