Would be a great outcome for the VFL to realise there are too many sides in Victoria and give them an opportunity/reason to make change.

Cut 4 minnow clubs = 26 rounds for home and away vs every opponent, no pre season games, no byes, each player can play a max 24 h&a games - the club manages when each player has a rest.

Get the national comp back to being elite level, not every man and his dog can get a game.

I think the money issue around the virus with destroy thousands of businesses and solo operators, so it wouldn't be surprising to see it really damage some clubs.

Can't see it happening. The AFL are committed to keeping all current clubs in the competition and viable. Although you make some sensible points and despite they may take a tremendous hit to their financial bottom line it won't stop them bailing out any clubs that need it. That's the world we live in(as I see it).
