You know it is bad when the NRL have a better strategy in place.. .

But hey, Victoria is the epicentre of world sport.....

The big Elephant in the room is that the AFL sold their soul to the Victorian Government.

The Vic Government fund a large portion of the AFL - hence the long term contract for the GF in Melbourne. The government do this because it is a great money spinner for their economy.
It means that the AFL (or VFL really) are horribly compromised. To have a full AFL season, they should be moving all teams out to a safer location. Be that Queensland or SA or WA etc... They should have done this, quarantined for 2 weeks and then started the competition.
Instead they risk the competition not having a full season, so they can satisfy the government of Victoria, who are desperate to have some sense of normality and economic boost.

It’s bias bullsh*t no matter what spin they AFL try to put on it, that has become more and more obvious, and the continue to take people for fools

Spot on. Victorian taxpayers money to the AFL to fund Victorian grassroots football to secure the GF for another 50 or so years which in turn earns more for the Victorian govt from tourism paid for by non Victorian football supporters......what a racket!

Correct. And we wonder why decisions have a Victorian bias??

As always, there is no AFL. It is a VFL with guests.

Yeh, that ain’t happening. If all the other states are going to have crowds then that is where the hubs will be - Vics have to suck it up.
Mardi will not be happy, and she is the one with the final say.

Only one Essendon player came into contact with McKenna apparently. One who isn't even in their best side (Stewart).
Hahahahah hilarious. No chance that is true. Not when he has been training as well.

Going to be funny when the AFL clear the others to play and then another player tests positive at the last minute. More chaos for the AFL.

How is James Stewart, who will be delisted at years end and injured now, the only player to have contact with another player when there is footage of McKenna at training last Friday?

That is Orwellian.

Petty happy about this.

You can only get COVID with direct physical contact.

Open up the global economy. One rule, No direct physical contact.....[emoji38]

The AFL and Vic DHS shoud be globally shamed over this decision. Very dangerous sending this mixed message.

So let's get this straight.

-McKenna trains on Friday. Full contact session, and he's seen spitting, licking his hands, blowing his nose, whatever.
-He has a test that arvo, test "irregular"
-Comes to the club Saturday and told to test again
-Comes back positive
So, chances are he had the virus on Friday, yes?

Now, he's just spent an entire session in contact with basically the entire team. He has 1 "close contact"? So either health advice is wrong, and you can leave the house when positive, just don't go around tackling people, or Victoria's health department is ****ed.

Listen son, if anyone is an expert in Community transmission...it's Victoria

Very suspicious
Not suspicious, it's a bloody sham! Any decent Health professional would tell you.

The whole Essendon squad should be isolating for 14 days.

Would not want to be the Carlton side this week...

It’s a cover up to allow the season to continue, interesting if next week a Carlton player comes out positive

Normally around or up to a 2 week incubation period, though there have been some cases much longer .. this could end badly, at least for Melbourne based teams

And you can’t get it from an Essendon player

Poor James Stewart, sacrificial lamb.
