Remember when people thought Scott Thompson was a gun mid? JJ was better and more consistent for a few years. Recently, not so much. I'd take his career over the professional pack crasher's any day.

Taberner has to be one of the most ‘almost’ players of all time. Can threaten to take games apart but will then shank one from straight in front to sap momentum. Has a great set of hands too and can kick on both sides which is rare for a left footer. Would be frustrating as **** to watch as a Freo supporter.

I'll never understand the thought process that JTG goals are less valuable.

The entire point of football is to take shots at goal from the easiest spot. All they ever showed on TV is JJ seagulling the final link, they never showed him burn off his opponent as soon as they turned it over and gut running to get into the "cheap" position.

It was pretty universally loved as far as I remember. I assume the issue is the babygates brigade would crack the shits that it's based on an old state guernsey though. They're the only team allowed to rip off and recolour state guernsey designs apparently.

Can you clarify whether you're saying that JJ was a better midfielder than Scott Thompson?

JJ would be an asset to a time that goes forward quickly and moves the ball directly, as you mentioned he works damn hard in being a seagull to collect those "cheap goals". Even the seagulls at Henley Beach have it easier.

I will never forget Sportsbet had their most dumbest and easiest bet ever that it offered it was like free money, will Jenkins score a goal from the goalsquare, it was paying $7, it was the easiest money I ever made.
