He isnt fast, but he isnt way too slow. Clean hands who looks to give to guys on the outside - guys with pace. Perfect complement to pack horse for LDU and Jy

Our pace will 'improve' with improved decision makers and better ball retention. We should absolutely ask the question of Constable in any Higgins discussion.
You bet we should Ham. Nice to see a few of us really like him. Pace and speed is not the be all end all of it. You still need your classy work horses that can get the ball.

Anderson isn't the quickest guy on field either.
What is Charlies first few metres like. Off the mark i am refering to not to shabby in my opinion. Ateam full of slow Robert Harveys and Greag Williams i could settle for that. Like i said speed is not everything ps forgot to mention Sam m

It worked for the club for a while but when the intensity from the players dropped off they just got outran and outscored on field. Need a good mix of both speed and toughness. Hard to consistently tackle and be rough for 4 quarters it seems.

Tbh I am more thinking as much defensively as offensively. Jed at least makes up for his lack of raw speed with incredible closing speed and tackling technique.

I've genuinely become conditioned to us getting cut up on the spread, it's been an issue for that long.

It's been a 20 year problem. Needs to change. Understand that we can afford to carry a couple players without genuine pace, however I'd like to avoid them in the midfield for now.

2022 U25 Midfield could be LDU, Simpkin, Hollands & Horne... With Cunners winding down at that point, we can add another slower midfielder then.

People thought Josh Kennedy was slow too when he missed Hawthorns first flag. Clean hands, quick thinker. Yep

Don't think anyone is saying we should avoid slow midfielders all together... It's about balance, we currently have Cunnington, Dumont & to a lesser extend Jed who all don't have explosive pace... Until one moves on, I don't think we can afford to add any more.

Okay, he lives in Hampton, StKilda are interested.........but Geelong makes more sense...........

Does anyone have the slightest doubt that Ralph/The Hun sporting editor is pushing a pro-Geelong agenda?

........

Since when do reporters know what's best for a player and their family conditions? Living in Hampton, to relocating to Geelong is best for his family life because he is expecting twins? What?

Did you read the part where it said he is from Geelong and his extended family still remain there?

Plenty of people move back home to the area they grew up in, once they start a family.

Not sure why Ralph would have an agenda either, as he follows Richmond.

Easier to go the tin foil route than take a breath and examine the facts.

He's got twins on the way, so he'll have 3 kids under 3. Parents live in Geelong.

I did listen to it.
But really, so what though? It's just pure speculation to get their own biased opinion across. It's like saying Cunnington should consider a move down to Geelong after the birth of his second child to get more support from family? Does the media know Higgins is struggling with managing family life or something and wants to be closer to family?
If not, to just come out and speculate is getting so repetitive.
