A Cameron FA type should be our focus in 2 years. Not now.

My wish list for trade period apart from fair return for BB (hopeful) and Higgins (doubtful) is one of Wright/Mihocek and one of the young Vic guns returning home.

Add a couple of draftees, a decent run with injury and I reckon we’ll surprise many.

Yes I'm with you... as mentioned indiff to Cameron.... as yes the other option would be a Wright/mio and is still maybe be into lmac too.... but yes get a first hopefully for brown... 3 top 15 picks.... a constable Clark Caldwell and yes agree we will be ok

It is why North Melbourne, which is looking to generate as many top-end picks this year as possible, could target the No.12 slot to add to their No.2 and 9 picks by packaging later picks together for the Dogs.

The problem is 25+57+65 is worth 1028 points and 12 is worth 1268

We would need some added slop from any Brown, Polec or Higgins trade to make it worthwhile for the dogs. That means I don't think we can have these potential trades drag on.

I think if JUH goes #1 and that comes out to 2400 points, Dogs have 2053 in total with 1268 points being pick 12. They will probably want to try and turn that from 1268 points to 1615 points (equivalent to pick 7) worth of lesser picks. I am not sure if they can do that or not, or if we can help them achieve that. Certainly not from our current hand, but might be doable after other trades.

We would need to get pick 31 (currently held by Port Adelaide), to get to 1615 points.

The question is... will it be worth the effort for us to turn 25+31+57+65 to turn that into 12. Two second, a third and 2 fourth for pick 12, in this draft? In terms of points that is closer to pick 7 in value.

TRADE TARGETS

Ben Brown would be a very good fit. He’s available and not only did he kick 60+ goals per season from 2017-19, he’s a great club man and would fit buy into what Longmuir is building. I would pursue Brown and trade out Hogan because I believe Brown would buy into the team-first culture that Longmire demands, whereas I have doubts that Hogan does 100 per cent of the time.

TRADE BAIT

Connor Blakely has fallen out of favour and would have some trade currency. I would ask the question of the Kangaroos about Brown and offer up Blakely and a second-rounder or even a straight swap for Hogan.

Buckenara has everyone fooled. Amazes me how he gets paid for his opinion

Also, didn't Connor Blakely state that he wanted to stay and earn his spot back?

A possible trade we can get in on is the Blues/ Cats pick swaps.

Our eye should be on the Blues pick 27 and/or the Cats pick 33.

Blues trade 7 + 27 to the Cats for picks 13 and 16.

Cats can then on-trade 27 or 33 to us for Higgins

We trade 25,27/33 to the Dogs for pick 12.

Pick 12 value is 1268
25+27 = 1459

To be fair it may be a couple of days old, may have been after Blakey said what he said
Swapping Brown for Hogan though, ludicrous

Imagine thinking Jesse Hogan was worth the same value as Ben Brown 🤦‍♂️

The way things are shaping with NGA & compo picks, pick 12 could end up being pick 17. Our pick 9 could become 11-12 by the time the scum get compo for Daniher and GWS get compo for Williams & possibly Cameron.

WE need to bundle up 9 & Brown/Higgo trade picks to get Sydney/Hawthorn/GC's pick 3/4/5.

I can't see how Pick 7 won't be used in the Saad trade.

What's in it for the dogs?

Yeah, it is doable, the question is do we value pick 12 that highly, in this draft, given the list changes we made. From an earlier post where I broke down how we are replacing 14 players with mostly good value type of replacements, it assumes any exists from trades are replaced with an equivalent value pick or player as a replacement. If we are to spend 57+65+Higgins to upgrade 25 to 12 then all of that just improves the value of one replacement, we will create another vacancy which is going to be filled by... pick 74 at this point in time. We already have one vacancy, at this point in time, two if we don't upgrade Hayden to the senior list, Higgins used to upgrade a pick would create a third.

We have to be mindful about how we are going to fill our spots.

It will be interesting to see what happens.

I’d rather Bruhn, personally. I don’t see the point in trading up to no mans land.

2021 R2 + 24 + ~55+ ~60 should be enough for Sydney’s pick.

Or Brown + 24 + 2021 R2 > Essendon 6 + 2021 R1

The options really open up when we convince Adelaide to give us 19 for Dumont.

Will Geelong give us 17 for Higgins?

I can't see how Pick 7 won't be used in the Saad trade.

I wouldn't pay 7 for Saad, I mean i think he is a really good player and would love him at the club, but I don't like him that much. I wouldn't want us to pay 9 for him and if we had the Dogs 12 I still would be reluctant. it is amazing how much his tyres have been pumped up and Brown's deflated by the media.

I wonder with Joey D about to land at Brisbane whether Daniel McStay will, you know, McStay?

Solid player. Definitely worth a look.

This also cancels Brown out of any Brisbane trades.

Will be a few clubs trying to do this, Adelaide hold a lot of points.

Hopefully the dogs are keen on Brown, because that could be their incentive to work with us.
