Let MG do his work, which is always worthwhile, meanwhile we have to get off the Trade period tit and all of us (including me), realise we are balls deep into a finals campaign.

There will be time, hopefully in three weeks where we get the chrissy present.

BTW this is no way a critisisim of anyone, for a decade the only thing we have had to look forward to was trade and draft period. Hard to actually believe we have a finals team that wasn't just making up numbers.

We have at least one more game for the likes of Hunter and Coff to get experience and know they are good enough for finals, then we get excited.

Oh BTW i am exactly the same as the rest of you kents, I'll be on this thread day in day out, old habits die hard.

Honestly if we can get Caldwell and another young KPD that’s all we need. We did almost all of the work last off season. A free hit through free agency would be nice as well if they don’t cost too much coin.

We still have Gresh to come back who is arguably our 2nd or 3rd best mid this year with Jones, so our midfield isn’t really an issue anymore.

If our goal is to be midtable, yes our midfield isn't an issue anymore if we landed caldwell.

Hanners is arguably our best mid and he's old and broken.
Jones, caldwell, clark, gresh are all still likely a couple of years off being able to MAYBE step up to the level steele has hit this year.

We have the cap space for a star mid, even after potentially caldwell- we need to use it if we are going to set ourselves at being consistent top 4 material.

Richmond didn't sit back and play it safe after winning a flag- they went and signed tom lynch on a squillion a year.

We got to this point by taking risks and being bold- if we play it safe we'll go back as quickly as we rose.
Every top 4 contender in 2021 will be maxing out their cap- we will be at a distinct disadvantage onfield if we aren't doing the same.

Now is the time to be doing what we did when ross lyon came in after GT-
Time to put all our cards on the table and go all out to win a flag in the next 3 years.

You don't get a GENUINE chance at a flag by not being bold.

I remember fondly the day i was furiously refreshing Bigfooty only to be over the moon to find out we landed.... (checks notes)..... Keys Delaney.

That was some year, gave away Dal Santo compo and pick 41 for Longer and 48 (Yeo, Docherty and Polec all cost less in trades), swapped Mc Evoy for Savage and Dunstan, pick 24 and 49 for pick 19 (Acres), retired Blake, Kosi and Milne, took Billings and Curren in the draft and traded for Luke Delaney. Josh Bruce was traded in which made up for some of the other stuff ups.

You can't say it was a boring trade/draft period at least.

Caldwell's the only young gun that makes sense, there aren't too many more on the market.

There was that bit of talk about Taranto, but I doubt that. Could be someone like Brodie or fiorini? But I doubt we'd call them young guns.

Fiorini and Witherden are young guns with runs on the board but a step down from Caldwell or Taranto.

Do we need witherden?

I guess you take him because his talented and you can push Clark into the midfield but I'd prefer to target another mid instead of relying on Clark to take the next step.
