Hence the difference in cost and what we should pay.
also dealing with the bulldogs is a mugs game.
Accused us of cheating and we pre limed their asses off.
Our full back Grandfather was a premiership player for them and they accused him of cheating. They can GAGF.
Wallace probably cost nothing.
That’s why.
List clogger. Pass.

Probably be better than two of our high half forwards and one of our wings but yeah, you just make a sweeping statement. fu** off.
Piss off, mate. You can't even spell the bloke's name, and we're meant to take your opinion seriously?

Wallis is slow as treacle and had to remake himself as a marking forward because he wasn't a midfielder anymore. There is zero chance he'd make our team. He's not got enough to replace a senior footballer and he'd be wasting development if he was there instead of a kid.

Kicked 9 more goals than Walker last year and would probably show better attributes than three in keeping the ball forward at the drop. You are a bad judge or even understand football. Piss off back. X

Widely reported in the media that we'll be taking that Tasmanian kid, if we select anyone at all.
Yep, unless we select someone else.

Considering you were so definite we absolutely wouldn't select anyone, and the club has subsequently been openly approaching players to come try out for us, maybe you're not a good source on this?

Wallis is not at all the type of player we should be targeting due to our list profile

If we do go down the DFA path for one selection (which I'm happy to do), I'd prefer we target someone that's in between the ages of 22 and 25 (like Keays, Frampton, Crocker have been). Experienced enough to lead our kids through battle, but young enough so that they might have some development left in them. Not someone that'll be 29 when they'd play their first game with us

If our rebuild succeeds and we start consistently making the top 8 - that's when we start targeting Wallis-types as good depth options

Considering we've two guys out for the season, and another one sacked, I'd guess we'll use a couple of picks. Our midfield depth is pretty thin, and we really need another small defender.

Unlikely to take more than 1, due to longer term list management considerations (i.e. the lack of identifiable senior list departures at the end of the year).

Lol, how many goals did Wallace kick?

Wallis is absolutely cooked. Anyone who's a half reasonable judge can see this clearly. The game has gone past him, and it's impossible to assume he'll just remake himself again.

South Adelaide won the U16's premiership today. What youth programs are they doing down there? Certainly hit a hot streak of talented players coming through them.
Senior coach: Jarrad Wright
Football manager: Warren Ploenges
Talent Manager/U18 Coach: Mark Clayton
Player Development Manager: Bryce Gibbs (assuming this is a new appointment...)

U16s coach?

Changkuoth Jiath. Out of contract, does he have a go home factor considering he is from Ethiopia? Id happily let McAsey go, hell I would even throw Jones in at this point.

Why would we go for Wallis? I would not be going for anyone over the age of 23 to be honest.
Absolutely correct.

The only older player we should go for is one of those Hodge player/coach appointments with a Hurn or Shane Edwards. Otherwise no thank you

Painfully clear we are short a couple of top class midfielders in our rebuild.
Given our recent form would not surprise to see us fall into the bottom 4 pretty quickly.

1. Would Matt Crouch fetch a band one contract? If not, he should stay.
2. If McAsey leaves his currency, our second round pick and Melbourne's second round pick should be bundled to get another top class mid if (1) falls through; assuming he is leaving.

Currently we have Schoenberg, Hately, Berry, Pedlar, Keays, Laird with Crouch and Sloane missing through injury. Probably good enough for top 8 if the latter two were playing (we may have 2 more wins than we do right now) however long term Sloane will be gone so we will need an injection of more top end talent to compete with the top 4 in time.

Second priority needs to be key backs of McAsey leaves.
Third, chips in on Rankine end of next year to assist our middling small forward problems.

You don't rate Laird as an elite midfielder? And why can't Schoenberg/Berry/Pedlar develop into that 2nd top class midfielder.

I think mcrouch should be moved on regardless of what pick it gets us..

not sure I’d be happy paying him a large long term contract and thats what he’ll be asking for.. given his recent injury issues and how unbelievably slow he looks.

imagine next year our first round, top five pick, elite midfielder playing in the SANFL because the “must play our uninjured seniors” policy has Sloane, crouch, laird and keays clogging up the list in front of him..

like you say.. we need a couple of elite, top class midsfielders.. but we also need to makeroom for them in the 22 too.
