Star talent, Dangerfield type with a better kick. Also a better forward craft then danger
Certainly sounds good! I’ve seen a few clips on Twitter he looks great, did notice he seems to be hovering around 16-19 possession mark, is that due to the role he’s playing or is there issues getting possessions?

Interesting in Knightmare's August Phantom Draft update he has Roberts at 4 (first player taken after the two F/S players and Horne).
Thinking we don't overthink it and just grab Roberts with our pick if he's still available!

He’s playing league football. I’d be tipping he’d be getting a bit more of it in his own age group.

Knightmare compares Arlo Draper to Robbie Gray, how do you like this comparison Mutineer ? He's the kind of player we need.
Think we need to find a way to get Roberts and Draper. Think the mob down the road will be looking at Draper with their pick too..

I would going hard at a combination or all of Lipinski, Richards and stephens in this drafts after we use our first.

Sam Walsh

“I’d like to think that I work extremely hard out on the field. I’m a good decision-maker, pretty composed and like to get from contest to contest.”

“I would say I’m skilful, smart, composed and have the ability to go forward and impact the scoreboard,” Roberts said

Compare the pair . One shows ambition with humility the other a little overconfidence imo, all good as long as he backs it up.

You carefully overlooked “I’m a good decision maker”

Personally I think these boys are put in an awkward position “what are your strengths?” What are they going to say - I’m rubbish - ha ha

Right you are so only 3 out of 4 Captain Google !

I think GC are a great chance for the spoon. We won’t get pick 2 now as GC are now getting hidings for the rest of the season, if north pick up a win before our game. They get the spoon
No chance. Will be north at pick 1 or possibly us. Crows pick 2. Hawks picks 3. GC pick 4. We are a very good chance for pick 1 if North try against Richmond and us. Hawks should beat Collingwood and Richmond to send Clarko off on a good note. Plus Clarko would like to stick it to Mitchell.

Upon reflection gc may tank hard so you may be onto something.

We are on the same as GC and they will cop more hidings, plus Collingwood play Hawks this week. Hawks lose and maybe they get it but GC never seems to win many games after round 13.

Yeah I noticed gc percentage so you may be right. I still think we are playing tougher teams in powaa(who like to pump us to embarass us), Melbourne(retribution is coming for our win earlier in the year combined with the Vic media bringing up melb losing to us every 2nd day) and North(who I think will beat us by 5 or 6 goals). If gc start losing by 80 plus we'll know the fix is in. Hopefully the media will bring up that Dew needs to be sacked and he may go against club directives.

Did the predictor, north need to win 2 of our final three games to not finish last.

I’m not here to troll but I’m really interested in you guys’ opinion on Horne (Iassume as he is a local you guys would probablythe most bullish on him)
Honestly I think he's being over rated purely because he's got to play 2 full season uninterrupted compared to most Vic talent, add in the SA factor and this board is jizzing their pants over him. He'll be a good solid player but I don't think he'll end up that elite match winning mid that everyone so desperately craves.

Alright, im firing up the PlayStation. Say the season ended today with the current standings. Kelly walks out on GWS. Rankine asks for a trade to us.

Would you swap 3 and something (Berg maybe?) for 5 and 11. Take 5 to the draft and give GC 11?

Who says no quicker? Not enough for GWS? Not enough for GC?

And yeah this is all pie in the sky stuff I know.

Horne is definitely not an elite kick... At worst he's an average kick, personally I'd class his kicking as competent for an AFL player.

FOR ONCE IN MY MISERABLE LIFE CAN WE PLEASE DRAFT SOMEONE WHO CAN KICK, AND I MEAN ELITE KICK, NOT SOMEONE WE HAVE TO TO TEACH TO KICK, BECAUSE ON EVIDENCE WE CAN’T ****ING DO THAT EITHER, JESUS H TAPDANCING CHRIST

ibut GC never seems to win many games after round 13.

FTFY

You'd want his teammate Roberts then

Tigers are on record that they would have selected Galluci if we hadn’t taken him. In hindsight he’s been a poor player, but it wasn’t a poor selection at the time, he was on the radar of a lot of clubs.

Yeah, he was going in the next five picks.

You're not suggesting 11 for Rankine, are you?

Hard to see him being worth that at the moment.

If we can get 5 and 12, we should use them - but I'm not sure we would. Seems like a massive overpay from GWS.

Didn't they also give up Lonie?
We traded our D Motlop to Port for their 1st which we packaged with our first to Haw. Lonie went between hawks and port (Can’t remember which direction)

He'd go pick 6 amongst that lot if I was picking, big gap after your top 5
I would have him only behind Rowell and probably level with Walsh (who appears to be developing his game beyond what I thought he would).

Better all round prospect than Brayshaw, Anderson and Smith.

He probably has more weapons than any of them.

Better than Bailey Smith?

Certainly not IMO, Smith has the most hurt factor of all those let alone Horne.

Brayshaw maybe and I think you're underselling Anderson as well.

Anderson just doesn't have any real stand out features to me (I know you've always been a big fan). Will definitely be A grade, but not sure he'll become elite? I think Smith will have the better career and Walsh is probably surpassing all of them (not counting Rowell, who is now a wait and see).

Horne just has so much power in his running, leap and tackling / contested game. His skills and decision making are good (not elite) and he has good goal sense. Imo this translates to a very high ceiling player.

Rowell was the only draftee I rated higher but even then it's close. They are a bit different.
