I reckon Richmond are more likely to get pick 3 than we would.

Although if the player they want is still there when we're on the clock I'm sure we'll answer the phone.

I would love us to get Mac Andrew, have said this all along, he has "special" traits .....but if there's a silver lining, Callaghan drops another spot .....but what is GC's major need ?

I reckon GC need Gibcus...
A KPD ....yes, wouldn't argue that call either ....particularly with a dearth talls.

Do teams reach for the best KPP available ?

I mean, GC could obviously do with Callaghan, they still need to stockpile their midfield talent. That said, Gibcus would slot in nicely next to Collins, but would they take a KPD that high?

Rendell could be full of it, too - re: the GWS part that is, definitely feasible Mac goes top 5

I asked this question last page. There’s talk from watchers that GWS need a tall back. Is 2 too high for Gibcus?
Mac Andrew was the rumour

I have him as the 4th best tall in the pool (behind Darcy, Amiss, Andrew), but nothing would surprise me from this far out. GWS have Taylor, but I guess they’ll need a long-term partner for him

I don't want Callahan. Not for talent but I just get a strong go home vibe.

Sure we might get something appropriate but just look at the Rankine is only worth a 2nd rounder talk

Happy with Goater. He just seems to find space.

If we can also do Roberts/Draper somewhere along the line -unlikely- then that's a great future

James Willis if we're lucky might sneak through to our later picks, IMO he's the sleeper in the SA midfielder group regards fanfare. Cooper Murley would also be a nice pick up with a later pick if he slips through to one of our later picks given I think pick 23 and a 2022 sweetener could be where we land with Dawson

Heck, Petracca is a turnover merchant, going at a tick above 50% by foot.

When a 1/3rd of your disposals result in score involvements in a final series and you lead the averages for score involvements throughout the year while playing midfield probably says more about how good your decision making and disposal is.

3 out of top 9 in rising star for score involvements in a bottom 4 side.
The interesting one for me in that list is McHenry if he can get his stats to 20-25 disposals

From my viewings of Draft convo's .....only reason Mac Andrew was considered around pick 20, was due to him being so thin
Made the cardinal mistake of overlooking talent .....now the draft watchers are having to change their tune

Last year Nik Cox was also too low on Draft Boards .....due again, what position does Cox play? ....his talent again not given enough weight

Do we reckon Murley makes it to Melb’s 2nd and/or the Kelly compo, considering his lack of exposure this year? I’d pick him there in a heartbeat

Talent is obviously a huge part of the equation, but you have to make sure the application is there, too - not just training and conditioning, but having the dedication to honing their craft in a particular position

This is what someone like Cox is going to have to figure out - he was an absolute unicorn this year, but where does he play going forward? Forward, back or wing? Still up in the air, it seems

Is 19 consider end of first round?? Or beginning of 2nd round because if we traded out our future 1st but got 19 back and it's considered 1st round we could also sell future 2nd and 3rd picks too you know if we were really selling the farm in a trade scenario

Totally agree ....but that's the key missing aspect that none of us really have a clue about .....motivation, dedication, flight risk ect .....and in part, that's why the current Draft Boards will be volatile

That, and club needs ....it most certainly does play a part ....they won't reach for that player, but if a club is looking for an inside mid, they will overlook the better rated outside mid

Keays is that type, just doesn't have the finishing ability.

Those 2 you mentioned are certainly in that mould, might have to hit the FA market to find another and build a solid group of soldiers around them.
Or use top 5 ish draft picks in this draft and next seems the best way and most available way

Jordan Dawson? I readily have no feel on how good he is. But is a big bodied midfielder if we plan on playing him in the midfield
Yep a good call , he will have plenty of time on the wing but we can also develop him inside as he has the tools

think alot of crows supporters will be pleasantly surprised with him if he brings the same form or develops further which I can see him doing

Not sure how many on here have watched Jordan Dawson play but if you're expecting him to come in and be a dominant midfielder you're going to be disappointed I think. Contested ball is not his strength, his abilities are best used outside of the contest just like the Swans have cottoned onto.
Jordan Dawson is tall at 192cm but he is definitely not big bodied, Nathan Fyfe is the same height and he's 10kg heavier, Christian Petracca is 6cm shorter and 10kg heavier, Lachie Neale is 15cm shorter and around the same weight.
He’s still developing though Bicks and developing fast as well as putting on size . I’ve seen him lay 24 tackles in a game at NEAFL level and I’ve got no doubt he can start to go inside the centre square in the next few years as he reaches peak physical maturity

his kick is that good it will also be good to have him sitting on the wing at times as well because you want to use that strength

but if you’ve got a Shoenberg and a Keays/ Laird / Pedlar in there then he’s a nice guy to roll thru there at the same time

if Seedsman can pinch hit in there and Amon can play in there at Port then Dawson definitely can given more development
