Probably over thinking it but the other bonus I see is if we have a bad year and end up with a very high pick (1 or 2) we will be able to hang onto our pick but use Melbourne's first and a player for Lukosius.

I hope they use that 2022 pick for Dawson, and clear that up so we can focus on this year's draft.
I know that many of you have profound affection for a player we might get at pick 4 but, with the Dawson trade out of the way, we could trade with Richmond for 7 and 15 and still keep 33, which would get us a fine crop of new players. Richmond might want more than just 4 but we could find something from next year that would smooth out the deal

Reidy's going to have to do some serious gymnastics now to get anything like fair recompense if he is prepared to split pick 4 and still be able to land a decent 2021 draftee.

We have 3 x future picks every year .....we know where they sit at the end of next season ....also how many picks over the mandatory 3 picks

We're rebuilding we need top end picks now not on the never never.

Dawson is a nice get no doubt but it comes to the point where we've jumped through enough hoops to satisfy Sydney offering quite reasonable recompense so I say **** em' PSD it is.

Sounds like we have said the same. Genuinely can't see how we trade for Dawson now.

It's also a bit odd that we aren't going to bring in more young talent this year. I'm guessing we think we have so many young players that we need to see them for another 12 months before making further cuts to the squad. As much as I think we need to bring more talent in, it's not a terrible idea.
