FAQs & Resources Thread

It has an index at the top with threadmarks so it's easy to find what you're looking for – or easier than scrolling through 250 pages of AFL Rules, Regulations and CBA pdfs anyway.

These sorts of questions are all answered along with a bunch of other resources made by posters from across BigFooty (feel free to add to it!):

While weighing up a move, Riccardi might be comparing his prospects to Zach Sproule's.
I thought Sproule played his best game last week.
His goal was the clutch moment, a difficult chance on an angle that HH would have circled into, he kicked it beautifully, and for the first time in the game , there was proper daylight between the scores.
Also bustled away as back-up ruckman.
Both Riccardi and Finlayson might have to jump over Sproule to get first team cracks in future.

Well then you are effectively saying you want to bring in an upgrade on hill. Cos that would be his role when fit.

Would you draft this or would you look to the league?
I reckon Hill could be used on a wing as well, but yeah he's probably the most expendable of the shorter guys, we could also look at going with less talls? idk Leon's problem. Probably trade, I don't think there's many genuine pressure smalls in this years draft unfortunately, dthe two main ones would be Jake Soligo and Isaiah Dudley, Dudley is crows NGA and sub 170 cm which makes me uneasy, Soligo is an option but I don't think we'll have a pick in his range with the Fahey bid probably coming around 25-30

I wish sproule looked like a scary forward... I reckon some sleeves of tats or some half decent shoulders... maybe a big Mo.... I dunno... but right now he just doesn't look scary to play on.

(I realise the ridiculous nature of this comment)

If we play HH, he is super mobile for a tall and defends well... I don't have a problem with the three talls. I don't think there are many pressure smalls in the league either TBH... its not something thats widely available.

I actually think the idea of pressure small is more a form related thing... The player might have the speed and hardness.. but they need to predict the fall of the ball... the reaction and set up of def... things that come with form more than physical attributes. Many of the leagues pressure forward fall away (tippa from the bombers) in this regard when their form does

His less than fearsome appearance can work for him .... take him lightly and get burnt

also of interest in that story is the change to the rookie rules giving players an extra year without having to delist & re-draft, they mentioned Callum Brown as an example of who might benefit from that.

and some interesting stuff about the Kelly deal in that payments can be varied year to year to fit into the cap. so some years he’ll receive more, some less, depending on discussions & overall list management.

He should look to him as inspiration. 5 years on the rookie list. 3 years till a debut and then didn't play another game for over 12 months. He's done it the hard way.

And clearly gives 100% every week.
