It has an index at the top with threadmarks so it's easy to find what you're looking for – or easier than scrolling through 250 pages of AFL Rules, Regulations and CBA pdfs anyway.

These sorts of questions are all answered along with a bunch of other resources made by posters from across BigFooty (feel free to add to it!):

I think Davis is the new Keeffe - break in case of emergency.

It also sounds like Jake had an over-inflated sense of his own worth. Held out in the hope of another club swooping in and offering him big bucks based off his first few games last year, only for interest to dribble away. I do worry that if we re-sign him he'll be off if he does anchor down a spot.

Interesting. Unsurprised by the Mummy & Phil news, but somewhat regarding Jake. I'd tend to agree with dlanod that he didn't get that much interest. Question is, will he be managed as a KPF, or a KPD - and how does that impact our drafting strategy?

With one less spot on the list, I wonder if we'll put#13 up for auction and either pick up a couple of early second round picks - one to pay for Fahey and the second to grab a KPD (presuming Jake is played as KPF and we take Callaghan with #2); or otherwise, move it into next year's first round. Perhaps we could trade with Collingwood for their 2022 first round pick, just to help them pay for Daicos, and for the deathriding LOLs!

Interesting that was what I would have voted for initially - hold 2, dump 13, load up on points and come back in hard on the night should a player start to drop we rated higher. I thought we where committed to Fahey almost anywhere from 10+, born and bred Giant, not sure I like the thought of letting those sorts of kids play at Swans or Gold Coast. IMHO GC will split their 1st pick for players that can impact in 2022. Oh Im keen to see 2022 1st rounder brought forward.

IMO I think we should develop Riccardi as KPF it's his natural position and he's shown serious flashes as a legitmate target. If all goes to plan with his development he should be next man up when Hogan faces injury or managed next season. Not sure we can play all of Hogan/HH/Flynn/Riccardi all togehter next year, if Flynn ends up leaving (I think unlikely) Riccardi could certainly be the third tall.

Dont think its possible under the current rules but Phil to go into the Mumford spot of rookie list/coach position would be ideal, a list spot will be open early in the year for LTI elevation and maybe have him involved in selecting his replacement in this years draft. Even if he wants to pursue a media career after playing, having him in the role Nick Maxwell did would still work. Stein will be 28 next year, probably Keefe's last season, Haynes is approaching 30, Fleeton is unknown. Given he has been a big part of building the culture, having him involved in interviewing and selecting the next wave seems fitting.

Add TOJ and a rotating Briggs to the mix as well

I view Briggs as someone that would be the primary ruck, I imagine he'd spend limited time up forward perhaps only when someone is chopping out for him. I'm not sure where TOJ fit's in this team, his inconsistency and lack of effort at times is maddening yet at times he can be a game changing forward. He would have to show some serious form in the VFL before I'd give him a look in at the senior level, I would have all 3 of Riccardi, Flynn and Sproule ahead of him for the third tall spot next to HH and Hogan

This bloke would be very handy. Wouldn’t cost the earth and could take the spot Lachie Whitfield was used in down back and free him up to play wing and forward.

He is electric and would be a difference maker. I would definitely make a play.

Jake has some deficiencies that oppo teams worked out pretty quickly.
That's why he didn't play much at AFL level and interest has cooled.
He was getting out-bodied too easily. Just being tall and having good hands only gets you so far - see Mason Cox and Taberner.
He's still only 21 and can get better, so I hope he stays.

Understandable from both sides
Disappointing to lose a local but he was so hot and cold. Brilliant but a terrible mindset, looking from the outside.
Club has a possible double ruck plan next year and we also have HH, Hogan and Sproule.

wish him all the best.
He wont get a game there either.... their talls look the goods

What can we expect for him? Definitely shown more than enough for a decent pick you’d think?
I'd think a 3rd rounder tbh, we're not bad with our good will trades and I doubt he's any more best 22 than Riccardi

why however would Port want him?
Seems his partner is originally from SA so I assume it'd be player led in this case, theres worse injury cover for Marshall tbf

Probably a third rounder. Gets us off his money for the next two years which is a plus for us considering he is out of our best 22 right now. Don't expect much draft capital back

Would be handy to get off his contract plus any draft picks we get back would be a bonus, don’t think it’ll be anything more then a third.

Some posters over at Port are questioning how they would play a forward line of Dixon, Marshall, Georgiades and Finlayson; with a specialist ruck also playing. Would a 'swap' with Marshall be beneficial for us, also given that Riccardi is an unknown quantity.

AFL news 2021: Trades, Jeremy Finlayson, medical at Port Adelaide, Jordan Dawson, out of contract players (foxsports.com.au)

If Finlayson wants to jump ship, I wouldn't be standing in his way if I was you.

Every game I watch of the Giants, I see him very excited about kicking a goal if the ball is really close to him, outside of that he stands still and refuses to chase or tackle.

You need more team-orientated players, not self-centred showboaters !!

Hope you can get something solid in return for him.
