I agree, it must be a problem with our development and/or instructions from coaches. Some of our players have just seemed to almost go backwards in their development.
Weiters, Harry and Walsh have been superb.
TDK, Fisher, JSOS, Cunners (and Charlie?) are getting there.
Jury is still out on Stocker, Kemp, Philp, Ramsay, Carroll and Durdin.
Setters, Kennedy, Dow, Willo, O'Brien and Samo just haven't reached where they should be.
Polson and Macreadie have been busts.
Overall about a 50% strike rate.
Ignoring the 2015 draft (Weiters, McKay, Curnow, Cuningham and JSOS), our drafting since then has had a poor strike rate:
2016: SPS (not looking good), Fisher (tick), Macreadie (bust), Polson (bust), Williamson (not looking good), Kerr (bust)
2017: Dow (not looking good), LOB (not looking good), TDK (promising), Schumacher (bust), Garlett (bust)
2018: Walsh (tick), Stocker (TBD), BSOS (bust), Finbar (bust)
2019: Kemp, Philp and Ramsay (all TBD)
2020: Durdin & Carroll (all TBD)
With where we are at now (and where we should be), our recruiting in the 2016 and 2017 drafts are really hurting.
