Apologies for any inconvenience. We will try to find a replacement.
If we can get an early 2nd round pick for Dow, I say go for it. I think he will ask for a trade anyway.
Williams is still an AA-calibre half back, let's wind it back a bit, lol.
How is he AA calibre?
He's been in the league 9 years and has never been AA. He's never been nominated for the AA squad.

sh*t, I thought he would have been nominated at least? That's absurd.
He's definitely a dynamic half-back when fit.
Everyone's thoughts will differ slightly on this. Mine are pretty close to yours, except that I'm not keen on letting SPS and Dow go unless we get an attractive return. Do think it's the right time to discharge the older guys, with exceptions being Ed and Jones - both have their faults but they play the game hard, usually get their job done, and set a good example to the younger guys.Question is who do we back in / keep and who do we let go ...
In my opinion ...
Gone - Murphy, Betts, Newnes, Gibbons
Shaky - Kennedy, Newman, McDonald, Levi
Trade - Dow, SPS
Best 22 (keep)
Docherty. Jones. Plowman.
Williams. Weitering. Saad.
L’Ob. Stocker. Cuningham.
Martin. McGovern. Charlie.
Fisher. McKay. JSOS.
R. TDK. Cripps. Walsh.
I. Fogarty. Owies. Setterfield. Parks.
E. (keep). Kemp. Durdin. Carroll. Philp.
Depth - Pitto. Ed Curnow. Marchbank. Williamson. Honey. Ramsay. Mirkov. Cottrell.
There is a good chance our highest paid player in 2026 will be a 32 year old back pocket who has never been All Australian.
Don’t burden this kid !! Just let himWalsh for captain. Thoughts
Well it certainly isn't the supporters who are to blame for poor performance.
The club needs to take responsibility.
From the moment we made Cripps and Doc dual captains we were doomed.
Totally symbolic of our inability to make a decision. Cripps was clearly the best candidate. Murphy should have been made to step aside the year before. Murphy should be sanctioned for his comments regarding team selection that are all over the media. The club hasn't drawn a decent line in the sand for as long as I can remember.
From the top down we appear gutless. We crumble under pressure on every level.
Name one decision made by the club that we, as supporters, have been able to stand behind with pride. Non-committal right down to rubbish injury reports. 1-2 weeks is a catch cry that shouldn't exist.
I'm done.
What are you mods even protecting? This club has no substance.
I can't defend us in public any more so I'm done supporting us.
Done.
All this had its genesis when the club made the decision to terminate Bolton. Instead of standing behind him and unconditionally supporting him, the club reacted to the group of players who did not like his brand of footy. Bolton demanded accountability (get comfortable being uncomfortable), and there was a group that did not like this. Who are they??? The same group mentioned week in and week out, who run one way and are not interested in sacrificing themselves for the team and only want to do the easy things. Now we see the consequences.
I'll never understand why people post this sort of thing. There's pretty much no chance of this actually being correct, despite Williams obviously having received a hefty contract to come across.
Bolton completely lost sight of the fact that winning actually means something.
His disastrous half time address against Hawthorn had as coughing up a 5 goal lead, and some great footy turning to crap.
Accountability? Please.
He lost the players, and that was on him, not the players. He had to go. There was an instant turn around.
The issue was not the sacking of Bolton, but decisions made since then.
Why was there an instant turnaround??? Teague let the players do what they wanted. I said at the time when this laissez faire approach wore off he would have problems, and surprise surprise, the same players are now not listening to him. Teague has lost the players, and according to Caroline Wilson, some are openly bad mouthing him.
I could believe this .. Murphy snide remark about his form and coach not seeing it has some under current otherwise he wouldn't be game enough to say anything -- just as he took swipe at malthouse 2 years after he left but at the time was at home in hiding ..Why was there an instant turnaround??? Same name keeps getting mentioned over and over. He didn't like MM, didn't like BB, and now he doesn't like DT..Someone like that walking around in the dressing room sharing his concerns with younger players....I could believe this .. I said the other day tail wags the dog at Carlton and has for a very long time -- we sacked a 100 goal forward cause he upset the captains wife on the piss and we had already been managing these off field issues with fev for how long already - on the field fev always delivered .. if cripps and docherty hadn't been arguing on the bench during the * game would Bolton of been sacked that week -I don't know as I just a supporter but as an outsider seems we have had the same issues for 10-14years -- Pagan era just had a deplorable group of players which were never
Going anywhere after the AFL nuclear attack and he probably lost
Interest ..
We have to go after Mitchell. He is the ball magnet we need in the middle to help Walsh and Cripps.Interesting to see two players who were closely linked to us - and who many on here dismissed as worth trading for - are having career best seasons, are both in the top 10 in the coaches voting and are in everyone’s all Australian teams for now and likely will be end of the year officially
Alas both Oliver and Wines are no longer available - either of them would have been far more useful right now than Saad or Williams

but each of those would have cost more in draft/trade capital than Saad & Williams combined, plus the question of if they were actually genuinely considering us or if it was simply managers posturing for a better dealInteresting to see two players who were closely linked to us - and who many on here dismissed as worth trading for - are having career best seasons, are both in the top 10 in the coaches voting and are in everyone’s all Australian teams for now and likely will be end of the year officially

Geez how you have backtracked.
Weren't you the one that stated Teague coached the first half of that game, then Bolton took over?
And now we are still experiencing those massive run ons
Haven't backtracked at all. That was a turning point in terms of losing a bunch of the players.
While both Bolton and Teague game plans are heavily swayed in one/opposite directions, players also need to take responsibility
No gameplan is perfect, buy in the most important factor
