It had absolutely nothing to do with mental health and it really annoys me.

In 2021, clubs should be well aware that a player taking drugs and going on a bender should not be defended as a 'mental health' issue. Yes they clearly need help, but it disgusting to place it in the same category as people who have legitimate long term depression and anxiety.

Port will always be absolute scum in the way they deal with players and lie to their supporters. (Anyone noticed that Port Magpies no longer exist in the SANFL??)
Re Port Magpies, it’s hilarious that at a time they’re chest beating about their traditional “Prison Bars” they’ve dumped one of their last real ties to their traditional heritage, the Magpies emblem on their guernsey. I actually sent in a text to SEN about this, Dillon read it out and Gucciangelo fobbed it off as being “One club, one emblem”......yet two different team names and numerous different guernsey’s......wan*er.

Yeh I noticed it on all the SANFL advertising. No Magpie to be found, just that marketing department designed PA thing.
But their heritage is sooooo important.

They have killed the Magpies and their dumb arse supporters are too busy cheering the emperors new clothes to notice.

I think its piss poor form to use the mental health card when it appears this is anything but

There are genuine people with mental health issues out there whilst we have a group of players who are in privileged positions playing the mental health card.

When I hear a current AFL player with mental health issues, my first reaction now is what are they hiding.

Didnt Buddy claim Mental Health Issues a few years back?

IIRC the AFL cannot drug test them during this time. Not sure if the rules have changed since.

Still the same.

Hopefully not a silly question, but I was trying to put my SMA members barcode into the ticketek website and I dont seem to be able to get access to the Powaaaaaa game (I am hopeful of them continuing their recent run of great performances when it matters)? Have always been able to buy both tickets in the past (pretty sure the astronomical amount I seem to pay covers it), but this year seem to be only able to get Crows tickets....

Soon we’ll get the boy (club) who cried wolf, and a player with genuine mental health problems will be ignored - meh, just another user.

Kind of ironic that people claim others pull the mental health card to cover drug usage when self-medicating with drugs commonly covers the mental health issue in the first place.
Context good sir.

If someone has a primary mental health issue and is self-medicating with illicit drugs (or alcohol or misuse of legal substances), that is usually (not always) going to be a habitual pattern of use. Not just off-season or Saturday nights, but through the day, most days, regardless (and usually to the detriment) of other commitments.

Going on a random bender or getting caught on Hindley st is not what is usual for compensatory use.

In an environment where mens health groups are trying to get men to open about mental health you would think male footballers would be ideal candidates to talk about the issues that affect them

Danny Frawley opened up about his issues and sadly overwhelmed him. There have been others who have also been open - but for a footballer to be able to take a break from the game and then explain his issues in real time would be a massive boost for mental health

But unfortunately it is used more than ''broken home'' was in the 70s/80s

Which does nothing to those who are genuinely suffering mental health issues.

Being able to turn it around in a few weeks time makes mental health issues seem trivial and quick to get over.

Clubs should not be allowed to cover up these incidents and use mental health as an excuse IF it’s untrue.

So sex pest pepper needs to win back the confidence of his team mates? But I thought he was on leave for mental health? Mr Potato Head Davies wouldn't be lying again would he?
He only felt sorry for himself after getting caught ****ing up again.

People hiding behind mental health is pathetic where it has nothing to do with mental health

Port really need to just offload him. He's not good enough to be worth the hassle.
Imo, they would have already made the decision to trade him at the end of the season.

With the talent they have on their list, they can afford to off load a player like him who is more likely to cause them problems off field than on field success.

Had to laugh when I saw on a tv news report recently they talked about Sam Powell-pecker, the reporter had to quickly correct himself and say - pepper.

Looked to have turn a corner last year and was playing good footy, Drew has been occupying his spot but hasn't been convincing and the others are untried.

Anyone hear Jimmy Rowe’s dad on the radio interviewing Jake Kelly. Was practically having a go at Jake for getting Dangerfield suspended.

Shit Rowie is back on my shitlist.

sh*t Rowie is back on my shitlist.
I hate the whole "devil's advocate" stuff they do on the radio and tv.

Bill & Tony... Graham & KG... I know it's part of the script to take a proactive/opposite stance but when people take a position that they couldn't possibly believe to crank up controversy it comes across as try hard WWE crap
