Free soft serve. My mate and I used to drive around going to every drive thru in Adelaide with no money and fill up on ice cream. Good times.
You drove around to get free ice cream when the cones were only 30c? Damn. I thought I was a tightass but that's a whole other level.

It’s probably possible that things have change a bit over 30-40 years. The ever expanding human population is more of an issue though.
Also us western countries have a strange way of dictating terms to developing countries that way. I believe South Australia had the highest level of cleared land in Australia. Only a small percentage left of native vegetation remains.
We just did it years ago. Thing might have changed since I read that though.
These poor developing countries have people that need to eat and planting crops is a way they do it. Like Australia did back in the 1800’s when we cleared most of the arable land for cropping.
"Rain follows the Plow" was a now debunked theory in the late 19th century that cultivating arid areas caused increased rainfall, so large areas in the west of America and SA in particular were cleared to cause this to happen by somehow releasing moisture from the tilled ground to the sky.

The irony is that 30cents they "saved" will cost them $1000s in healthcare due to obesity/mature onset diabetes issues later in life.

.....and if they do replace the football with a bucket of KFC

Better would be replacing the Eagles no.20 with Gov.

Don't know why any footballer would want a social media acct that is public

Don’t know why any of us do

But I am an old man who doesn’t do any of that crap lol

Found this quite interesting. Dusty setting up meetings with a guy who has been charged for match fixing in the past.

Further his manager first denies the meeting took place (when he probably set it up!)... until he is told there is video evidence.

There is just too much gambling in sport...

As a punter, if you knew just how many markets (different types of bets) are available to bet on any given AFL game it would literally blow your mind away.

There is so much you can bet on.

You can for example, bet on the Crows to kick 13+ behinds in half a game as an example or for example the Crows to lead at QT/HT/3QT but lose the match.

The mind boggles.

It's the specific spot bets in sport where the underworld elements appear to be most interested in.

Eg. First player to kick a goal, wide bowled by a bowler in a particular over, double fault in a particular game by a tennis player, etc... as opposed to the outcome of a game which is harder to influence in a team sport.

Yes infamously it was a former Crow that landed in some trouble over this. First goal scorer.

Bookies now have much reduced odds for this event.

Bock was ~$150 with some books to kick the first goal. He had knowledge before the game he would play forward and told friends/family.

Rest is history.

Going to be some worrying results once we see all the clubs & AFL's financials...
COLL $1.8M loss .....SYD $6.4M Loss

That's a huge differential .....given all clubs suffered similar downturns in AFL distribution, memberships, game receipts, I'd love to know the factor behind such a differential ??

Question; Did Clubs that hosted games during Covid (Adelaide Oval / Gabba), keep the ground receipts / sponsorship benefits ...or did the AFL implement some equalization program ?

But the Pies have always been more profitable than the Swans.... so all relative.

Swept under the carpet in a matter of days I reckon.

Now if they went on a shitty camp......
AFL would be sh!tt!ing themselves. Imagine if the poster-boys were found guilty for something like this. The VFL will be covering up as quickly as possible.

Dusty could literally open fire on a crowd of people with an AK47 and it would be swept under the carpet by the AFL.
