Sounds a pretty heavy handed approach for a breach of Covid Quarantine .....how many others breaching Quarantine are put into isolation cells ...solitary confinement

He was issued a move-on notice by officers in the early hours of Saturday morning in the Northbridge entertainment precinct, which led to the 20-year-old being charged over the alleged quarantine breach.
After a magistrate refused his bail application on Sunday, Stack was transferred from the Perth Watchhouse to Hakea Prison, where – under the prison's policy – he is required to restart his 14 days quarantine in an isolated cell.

During a brief hearing in the Perth Magistrates Court on Monday, Stack's matter was discussed in his absence, with the duty lawyer revealing Hakea Prison does not allow people in custody for COVID-related breaches to leave their cell to appear via video link.

Magistrate Jennifer Hawkins adjourned the matter until January 6, "given Mr Stack is unable to speak".
Outside court, his manager, Paul Peos, said he was worried about Stack's short-term health while in custody.

"It's been very difficult to have communication and we're very disappointed but we'll continue to try and engage with him as best we can," he said.

"He's having a very difficult time but it's the consequences of the times we're in, these are the charges and this is what he has to do.

"He did not sound OK, he sounded very distressed and very upset."

I don't think so, proven to be untrustworthy self quarantining at the disclosed address, quarantine in prison. Only has himself to blame. That said, as long as it's a hard and fast rule for everyone in the same situation.

He knew the rules and broke them not once, but multiple times. First time as part of the AFL hub, and now multiple times in this one incident.

If he doesn't think the rules apply to him, he can cop it sweet
Yes, this a virus that kills people, and has left many more very sick. It's has had an enormous impact on people's livelihoods.

I don't think that in WA there's much sympathy for AFL footballers who thumb their nose at the law and in doing so put people's lives at risk.

Multiple times.

The whole idea of quarantine requires isolation to address the risk of contagion, and he has shown that other alternatives where he has to exercise some personal responsibility won't work. The magistrate doesn't really have any alternative other than to mandate detention. He should be getting a bill for it like the people in hotel quarantine.

Sounds like they've gone the heavy handed approach across the board

One that happened real world that I know of was army blokes getting a surprisingly hot "girlfriend", then being presented a month or so later with an invoice for service that they could not possibly pay. They could make it go away if they procured some equipment - weapons and night vision equipment were popular.

Organised crime is not just movies.

“The root of all evil” fits well here.

Free soft serve. My mate and I used to drive around going to every drive thru in Adelaide with no money and fill up on ice cream. Good times.
Did it ever click that you probably spent more money on fuel than you saved by not simply paying for soft serve all at the one resturant?..

I'd guess he'd need to be a full member, which I doubt he is. As a traditional club he'd probably also need to be voted in by members. Not much chance of that happening.
True - I wonder if McLeod could do it here?
