Where’s the Covid thread gone mods?

MOD NOTE: we got sick of the same posters baiting each other over and over, and dealing with dumb reports incessantly, and decided if people were going to act like snotty-nosed, whiny, petulant children, we’d close the thread, and let them go talk about it on the SRP. Which they can do, anytime...

2nd MOD NOTE: please read the title of the thread. It says, “Non-Crows AFL”

As difficult to understand as this is, it means discussion about AFL stuff that doesn’t involve the Crows.

For the love of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, there’s a whole wide world of BigFooty. Feel free to explore it if you’d like to broaden your horizons. There‘s a Chess board and a Society/Religion/Politics board and boards about other clubs, it’s cray-cray!

Is the gold coast, GWS, port or half the Vic sides financially viable?
Agreed but the AFL will see room for expansion in the GC and GWS, so are willing to plow money into it.

Victorian clubs need to go broke to be forcibly relocated. That's the only way it will happen.

Fold or relocate.

God I wish the Power would relocate :p

I’m assuming you sign a contract to play for Norwood to. So surely that needs to be negotiated. Now Norwood are without that big forward target. How do they replace him at short notice.
The contract will have an "out" clause. Just like all AFL coaching contracts do. It's not slavery. So he signed for Norwood? And gets an offer from an AFL club. And you expect him to stay? Really?

Is this Jenkins hearing his forward line prospects at the cats this year?

Watching the tennis, am struck by how good and how deferred to Hawkeye is.

I don’t suppose there’s any scope for the AFL to bring that in?

Ah forget it, they wouldn’t spring the cash in a normal year, they’re not going to do it now.

Jon has pulled a lot of muscle in his career. If only his focus was on football...???

#1 draft pick
15 knee reconstructions
95 games
133 lifetime goals
alleged serial sex pest

this guy has done it all in football, except anything worth remembering

I’ve not suffered from mental health issues, or certainly any serious ones. I have however noticed a trend of people, particularly celebrities or high profile individuals who have made mistakes then going on to blame mental health issues. Obviously often the two do go hand in hand, but I find it disingenuous that it is now parroted out every single time someone has ****ed up.

The amateurs in Ireland have been using it for 7 years.

without wanting to be too cynical, i don't see poor mental health so much as an excuse to his actions, but rather, a result of his actions - or more so, the scrutiny of his actions

like i'd have no doubt having all of your dirty laundry being aired in the publically domain like that would affect most people in a bad way

I understand.... the media scrutiny after a big stuff up would send most to the brink, but too often it’s used as an excuse for poor behaviour or getting caught out. It does no good for the efforts of trying to remove the stigma from mental health issues in the wider community.

Regret is not a diagnosable mental illness.

What’s the purpose of a contract then. It’s supposed to protect both parties.
I don’t think I’d be signing anything that lets my clients still shop around for a better deal once I’ve started.

There would be an upward mobility clause, but protection from against playing for a another team in an equivalent league. No player would sign a contract if it precluded them from playing AFL. Local teams would be bummed, but absolutely accept the scenario.

If he's not listed but stays and plays vfl, well that's a different issue.
