For years and years I had NFI "we" invented the dim sim.

Was unaware of this when I went to England and almost had a fit, when I had fish and chips for the first time. :tearsofjoy:
I Think an idea that would make a sh*load of money is to take melbourne fish n chips to europe and the USA and market it to privleged white rich kids.

chiko rolls, dim sims, potato cakes, flake With the awesome melbourne style batter.

it would take off. There is really nothing over there like it.

Nope. UK Fish n chips is shit- they're like half fish n chip shop, half Indian/etc shops. Very strange imo.

I had French fish n chips a couple of years ago when we could still travel. It was even worse then British fish chips. Absolutely disgusting. It made my kids cry.

I had a French hot dog when I was in France last. Absolutely disgusting- didnt cry tho.

This time zone really is fantastic.

Olympics should always be in Japan.

Last week one of the USA swimmers wasn't too happy about the swim programme because it was the reverse of what we've become accustomed too
- heat swims in the morning
- semi-finals at night
- finals/medal races the next morning

The USA swimmer wasn't happy because of the change to routine - problem is that a key reason for the change in routine was so that the swimming finals could be shown in prime time in the USA as requested by the USA

It's been the same with other sports involving the USA - such was their confidence of playing for gold in the women's soccer that they requested the gold medal match be played in an earlier time slot so it was their prime time; they then lost their semi so doesn't matter

The English are very proud of their fish & chips, think that there's is the best in the world and that ours is crap in comparison

I watched something on TV a couple of years ago of a family that I think it's Sydney based who wanted to open a fish & chip shop (thinking they moved out here from the UK), and the key reason for wanting to open their own shop was because they deemed the options out here as crap

They actually had all the equipment for the shop and the stuff they needed, shipped out from the UK so that they could have an authentic UK fish & chip shop

I've worked with a few who've moved out here from England and the one complaint i repeatedly heard was about our fish & chip, and Chinese takeaways - main issue with the Chinese takeaway is not being able to get hot chips with curry sauce, which send a mainstay over there

Question regarding this Olympics - I've noticed before all team events that they've played the national anthems of the competing teams... Is that normal because i always thought that the anthem was only played for the medal ceremony

Fish is just too expensive these days.

Any corner takeaway shop is just chucking frozen stuff in the fryer

When I lived in Melbourne there was a good fish and chip shop in Hampton but the greek owners sold it to chinese and then it went downhill.

Then some more greeks opened up one on Martin Street in Brighton and that was good but same thing happened.

That is essentially how they make money out of it these days. Open them up, build the business, then sell the business, rinse repeat.

This is just showing off - all the Aussies had to do to confirm their gold was make it to the start line, not be disqualified and pick up no penalties

Prior to the start of the race they stayed away from all other competitors and crossed the start line in last - before the end of the first leg they were in first place

Well done guys
