One good thing about being unemployed- can have the Olympics on with the volume up loud

Kinda similar situation - currently employed in a casual basis but taken the last couple of weeks off

- last week was for me to recover from my own uncoordinatedness

- this week (and likely next week) taken off to play career for my mum who was in hospital overnight last week and now has 2 weeks of not being permitted to drive. So my turn to play chauffeur for medical appointments and such

It does mean being able to watch a lot of Olympics and stay up late

What's the story there? They dont like each other like the Jamaican female sprinters?

I don't think there is any story

The pair (Matthew Belcher and Will Ryan) have been sailing together for an extended period of time - they won silver at the Rio Olympics, so would think it's not a case of not liking each other because otherwise it's a long time to form a sailing partnership with someone you don't like

Maybe just bit of a different situation with them versus the other competitors in that they knew they had won gold prior to the race and all they had to do was show up & not f-up

I have no doubt that the gold meant a lot to them, but unlike others in the race who were actually needing to finish in certain positions for their medals, maybe it was just more relief to finally get the medal rather than the elation of having to race it out to win the medal

The English are very proud of their fish & chips, think that there's is the best in the world and that ours is crap in comparison

I watched something on TV a couple of years ago of a family that I think it's Sydney based who wanted to open a fish & chip shop (thinking they moved out here from the UK), and the key reason for wanting to open their own shop was because they deemed the options out here as crap

They actually had all the equipment for the shop and the stuff they needed, shipped out from the UK so that they could have an authentic UK fish & chip shop

I've worked with a few who've moved out here from England and the one complaint i repeatedly heard was about our fish & chip, and Chinese takeaways - main issue with the Chinese takeaway is not being able to get hot chips with curry sauce, which send a mainstay over there

Nsw fish n chips is ordinary. Although still better then English. The English arevweirdly proud of there’s. Never figured it out. Their fish is bland. Their chips are mundane. And mushie peas. Yuck. No potato cakes.

The local fish & chips shop I preference (got 4 within a couple of KM in regional Geelong), is run by a family with Greek heritage

Can't remember having bad fish & chips, and whatever ya order you always get more
