I used to work at a Foodworks in Sunshine which was run by an Asian family. One of my former managers at another supermarket I worked at was working there and got me onboard as well. We worked long hours getting the store ready, and then a couple of weeks after they opened, they cut all our hours back to zero and put on their family members in our place.

I remember having to chase up my final pay check too. Ended up driving up there to speak to them in person and the cheque was conveniently sitting on the boss's desk above an addressed envelope and he was like "Oh, I was meaning to send it, but I never got around to it." Yeah right!

Wesfarmers (that de-merged Coles) or Woolworths I think basically own like half of the shops in the malls.

Perf has a larger independent supermarket call Spudshed that isn't too bad.

True. They own Bunnings too. They own everything.
After the pandemic in Victoria they'll have an even bigger monopoly.

Yep been saying this for a while, unfortunately it will likely be the nail in the coffin for most of the little guys.

Woolies especially is a bit of an evil organisation as well.

We we all spend most of our time in the metaverse too. Most people won't even know how to interact with each other in real life. Let alone pick up, have sex and have children.
Spend most of our time at home living in tiny apartments close to the city which we won't own.
All centralised.

Speaking of Bilo and Torquay. A true crime story.
The shed outside the Bilo in Belmont was where the kidnapper took the Oakley guys daughter when he was holding her for ransom.
Pretty much right in the middle of the carpark.
My main memory of Bi-Lo.

This is slowly happening and most of the population don’t see, or don’t care. Just look at what happened during covid. Locked up for months on end and most of the population were fine with it. Cause the media tells them it’s a good thing, and they are heroes for doing it, and they lap it up like they have achieved something.
