Agreed. Give us pick 2 and we will pay adequately for CCJ.
if not pick 2 then something substantial.
Until then, fk off, we will use the necessary options at our disposal.
Sick of us being expected to just play quietly while the big boys are talking…..or is that tanking?
This is why Euge Snoz needs to pull rank and show the footy world we’re not to be messed with anymore.

Joyces has left the building..

I suppose you could look at it as they are all meaningless except for the last game in September. I am one of those that dont think any games a meaningless but that is just me.

The GF is also meaningless unless we are playing.

That’s just me, I couldn’t give two shits about the game, it’s ****ed, it’s boring, it’s a joke and unwatchable.

3 way trade that could net us an extra pick in the "hitting zone".

NM
In: CCJ, 17
Out: TAZ, 38,39 (Dumont compo), future 2nd, future 3rd

WB
In: 38,39,40,44
Out: 17, future 3rd

RIC
In: TAZ, future 2nd (NM), future 3rd (NM), future 3rd (WB)
Out: CCJ, 40,44

We would secure CCJ and go to the draft with

1, 17, 20
This is terrible for us.

I think that's the opinion of most people. All games are meaningful, if they aren't why bother playing them at all

If we get any compo for Taz it will be Band 5. If Dumont leaves it will be either Band 4 or 5. So we are looking at having picks 38, 39 & 40. Rather than trading one of those for CCJ, we should target this:

NM picks 38, 39, 40 & 71 to the Bulldogs
Bulldogs picks 17 & 74 to NM

That's a 344 point gain to the Bulldogs. Not sure if that is about how many points would be needed to get that first pick off the Bulldogs, but it would have to be pretty close.

And then it's sorry Tiges, we only have pick 74 for CCJ. But, as an act of good faith, we'll throw in pick 76 as well.
As much fun as that would be, can’t see the dogs wanting to hold that many list spots open.

Given we can just get CCJ for 38.

It's basically Taz, 39, Future 2nd, Future 3rd

for

17.

Right.........

Trying to work out what your MO is. You post a lot of trade suggestions and they are never even close to favourable to us. Why do you do it?

When rebuilding, part of the meaning of the game is to gain cohesion, experience, improve the game plan, perhaps even try out a few non conventional but good intentioned tactics. See what works, what doesn't. Asses players in the list.

The outcome win or loss is clearly less important in the early stages of a list build than in the years the list is capable of seriously contending in finals.

Fight looms over CCJ
Herald Sun - Wednesday, 22 Sep 2021 - Page 74

RICHMOND will play hard ball on a trade for CALLUM COLEMAN-JONES , with rival list managers believing the Roos will have to give over pick 20 as the centrepiece of the trade.

The Roos are adamant they will keep that pick and hand over a later selection, given Coleman-Jones played only nine games in four years at Richmond.

Richmond was disappointed Coleman-Jones , who it took at pick 20, decided to move, though DAMIEN HARDWICK’s Fox Footy demand for pick one was tongue in cheek.

“CJ, for us, he’s a required player. He has requested a trade to the Kangaroos, which is disappointing, but we look forward to receiving pick one coming back our way,” Hardwick joked.

North Melbourne could secure “CCJ” in the pre-season draft, but players don’t want to use that avenue because it leaves their former club without fair compensation.

JACK MARTIN and JACKSON HATELY used that avenue in recent years after trades fell through at the last minute.

The other leverage the Roos have is departing free agent ROBBIE TARRANT.

The Tigers would normally trade for the North Melbourne defender with a late pick so it did not dilute their incoming free agency compensation for MABIOR CHOL.

That pick might only be a third-rounder but it could help the Tigers move up in the draft order.

Yeah it’s going to be interesting to see how both Bulldogs and Collingwood balance the number of picks they take to the draft vs the number of points they will need to match bids, noting they (especially Collingwood) will probably want to protect their 2022 1st pick.

But the game is still meaningful as you get something out of it.... it's the points or the win loss that's not as meaningful

Won't all those picks be consumed by matching a bid for Darcy anyway so number is irrelevant?

The AFL froze the rule for last year enabling the Dogs to easily match JUH (surprise, surprise), however you normally have to take the same amount of selections as you have draft picks. Which would mean if they used 5 picks to match the picks they would need 5 list spots and fill them with Darcy + picks 70,71,72,73 etc.

😂😂 ol’ Wreck-em Ralphy is really getting the PR wheel rolling for his beloved Tigers eh?..

Can someone call this muppet and tell him we only got picks 26 & 33 for a 290 goal, 130 game FF who regular finished in the AFL’s top tier goal kickers every year for us.

Pond scum journos with their agendas against smaller clubs like us need a really good kick in the nuts - preferably by an Elephant.. (and yes that does include USC and her nuts too)..

And not even. We got a 2nd rounder and slid another 2nd rounder up a few spots.

Umm, who is that? Quotes, please.

I think quite a few were aghast at the thought of finishing last. A few also stated you never get anyone decent in the PD. Of course the counter view point was always that you have control of all drafts. So in that sense last is much better than 2nd last.

Of course we'd all rather be chatting today about our upcoming GF appearance, but alas we only have the drafts to warm our cold hearts.
As for trying to locate peoples posts, that is a little bit counterproductive and tends to lead to disharmony on the boards. People have a passion for our club and who wants to be the worst side. I admire their drive for us to not be the worst.

Anyways peeps is CCJ any good?

What sort of nick did Talia end his season in? Worth a 1 year deal?
I would.

A new challenge could reignite the latter part of his career ala Waite.

29yrs old and former AA, if anything he provides us with another high IQ KPD to help fast track our new generation of talls..

PS: would be an excellent backline coach eventually too, so another carrot to offer also perhap?..
