Not really.

Ham filled up the Perez' inactivated list spot. Edwards filled up the vacant rookie spot.

You don't really gain a spot if Ham is delisted, as Perez is back.

We delisted Tyson, Garner, Will Walker (Rookie List) & Connor Menadue (Rookie List).

Tarrant to FA.

We will be adding CCJ.

If we want 4 main draft picks we need to get rid of 2 of Dumont, Campbell and Atley.


Has it been confirmed if Edwards was elevated or remains on the RL?

Coleman Jones is effectively the same type of player as Jacob Edwardes, obviously a few years advanced so seems a strange pick up.

I think this trade burning bridge thing is fallacy.

Dodoro is universally considered the biggest trading prick in the game. Yet he gets multiple deals done every year.

Burn the bridges. Hell, burn the boats too.

Act completely in our own best interests. When we offer something other clubs want in the future, they'll quickly forget about the bad blood.

Other clubs are very quick to put us to the sword.

He has also been the list manager for 20 years and havent won a final for 15 of those years.. Sometimes getting deals done for the sake of it is not the right outcome.

Coleman Jones is effectively the same type of player as Jacob Edwardes, obviously a few years advanced so seems a strange pick up.

Goldy 34 next year, most likely has 1-2 more years left and needs help on field.
Edwards is 18 and has barely played coming off year 12 this year.
Doubt he'd be getting any games for the next 1-2 years.
CCJ+ goldy as rucks next year with Xerri or another coming in when goldy retires IMO.

Its possible to over commit to the ruck position. End up having to many on a list.

Richmond didn't think twice about tabling an offer to the vice-captain of the bottom club.

If we did it to them and reversed our recent histories, I reckon the AFL media would've reported it to the UN and Amnesty International.

Last year Melbourne dragged out the Brown deal to the point we took the deal they wanted us to take.

We are the Melbourne in this deal. CCJ wants out to us and is OOC. As you say we have a clear avenue for acquiring him for free.

There is no 'good faith' especially with them getting into Tarrant in the same trade period.

The AFL media in particular those who are Richmond supporters have really gone into overdrive on trying to condition the general public on what is acceptable in trade.

Earlier this week, it seemed that supporters were starting to see things like somewhere in the 20s + Tarrant for CCJ as being “fair”.

Fortunately at least some are waking up to what’s happening here.

Where the PSD option is there, it is mentioned that it isn’t usually used. This is not factual, the PSD has only been available since 2017 and has been used twice already since then (Martin and Hately).

There’s two separate transactions, the one where we are able to use the PSD and will offer a backend pick just as the Crows and Blues did, which the Tigers can choose to accept.

The other being Tarrant and there is no incentive for the Roos to trade here until that trade exceeds the likely compo.

Nobel likes playing two ruck/forwards in the same team and Edwards is still a school boy. CCJ looks like a good prospect who is ready for senior footy.

I would totally go Flynn.
We had 2 rounds this year that Noble only had 27 players to choose 26 from.
Having to many giant talls on the list could destroy us.
We need a CHB. IMO.
Or some wacky plan to play one of our forwards @ CHB.

Absolutely, in our case it's not even being Dodoro level prick status, it's just using the levers which are in front of us.

The best outcome for the Roos is Tarrant as FA and CCJ to PSD. If we aren't using this as the baseline then we are kidding ourselves and not serious about doing what it takes to get our best possible team.

Yep. If this was an onfield contest it's the equivalent of asking Jed Anderson to just apply a bit of pressure and a halfhearted smother when the opportunity is there for him to drive through his opponent, set them on their arse and run off with the ball.

The list management team don't get a season worth of chances to ply their trade - they do however deserve the respect of doing what they are paid to do and getting the best deals available for the team.
