North, Richmond debate worth of Coleman-Jones
By Michael Gleeson

North Melbourne has offered a slide of draft picks in the late rounds next year in an ambit opening bid for Richmond’s ruck forward Callum Coleman-Jones.

North has offered their third round pick next year for Coleman-Jones but want Richmond’s fourth round pick back in return in the deal for the player.

The Tigers and North are a long way apart in early discussions as Richmond wants the Roos’ pick 20 for the big man who has been offered a four-year deal to move to Arden Street.

Coleman-Jones was drafted with pick 20 four years ago.

Richmond was frustrated and disappointed at the player’s decision to leave in the first instance believing opportunities would begin to open up in the Tigers senior team next season and beyond.

They also feel the player had been well supported by the club after his COVID breach at a Gold Coast strip joint and fight outside a kebab bar along with teammate Sydney Stack cost the club $100,000 in the salary cap and saw the players suspended at length.

North holds the first pick in the pre-season draft but it is unlikely the player or his management is keen to use this avenue to move.
North reasons the 22-year-old player has only played nine games since being drafted in 2017.

Coleman-Jones has spent most of his time as a back-up forward to premiership stars Tom Lynch and Jack Riewoldt.

The 200cm athletic tall played most of his junior football in the ruck and wants to play more as a ruckman than a forward.

Richmond has already lost versatile tall Mabior Chol this off-season with the ruck forward moving to the Gold Coast Suns as a free agent.
The Suns were in close negotiations with Coleman-Jones prior to securing Chol as a free agent.
Lol, we aren't just offering a future 3rd, but expecting a future 4th back with CCJ so literally a swapping of late picks to get the job done.

I love it. Go get them Brady (and I can see why Tiger nuffies are pissed because.... lol. This is how you use PSD pick 1 leverage for an OOC player)

Richmond tell Brady they want his pick #20, actually they want all his decent picks. Brady looks over the faces of the Richmond list management team. Then he showed these men of will what will really was.

Brady delists Tarrant then delists Dumont and Atley as the Richmond list manager stares on in surprised horror

He tells him he would rather delist Tarrant for whatever shitty compensation he gets than live another day listening to their Mother Theresa bullshit about how much they've nurtured Callum Coleman-Jones.

I like wrath of GOD KC, I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

Collingwood have blown 3 years worth of draft picks on Daicos and a couple of second rounders last year. Jeeeesus they need him to be good.

Did they discover cloning technology? Even if he is good...

I feel sorry for the Perth teams, every time some wash-out wants to go home they are compelled to trade for them.
If carlton delisted SPS I don't think anyone else would pick him up if he publically said he wanted to go back to Perth.
AFL community seems to be pretty good about that kinda thing.

I know its been reported already that we're not going to bid, but I really, really want us to bid on Daicos and wipe out most of their picks this year. They basically just have their 1st and 4th in 2022 atm, not sure on the total points, but i imagine at least their second and third rounders this year would be gone to match.

If he was any good, someone would bite I reckon.

Brilliant stuff.

What and force him to go and play in a different state away from family etc?
I dont see it happening.

If you aren't prepared to go anywhere, don't go into the draft.

Good good good good.

Don't flinch North. Hold your line and bring it home.

If they walk away then we walk away too. All the way to... well you know where we're walking the young man.

Thanks for your time.

That's a hilarious offer. Given it is next year's pick they can't really bank on it even being in a certain range - superb trolling by the North list team.

Crazy risk as well. I've always been pretty uncomfortable with multiple picks for a single player - unless that is a gun who is the finishing touch to a list. All it takes is one freak injury - and I wouldn't wish that on any young player - and they've torched years worth of picks...

Brady: watches Hardwick joke about wanting pick 1 for CCJ, reads media reports around Richmond wanting pick 20, reads Bigfooty about pick 38/40 being fair value.

"How about a pack of Twisties for him?"
