Seb Ross is a very interesting one..

He has been a good player over the years for us. For a while he was our best player.

He was clearly really pissed off about his decision to go home for the Cairns game being questioned. He said in a tweet "I've given everything for the club hardly missed a game" etc.

I totally respect his decision to go back to his family but here's the thing...
1. Yeah you've never missed a game but you are paid a LOT of money by the club to play for us. Why act like that's some great thing to hardly miss a game?
2. There is footage of Seb being very soft in his running from multiple games this year, particularly the Essendon game when he literally gave up on running and jogged. This is from the vice captain.

Seb said after the Cairns stuff that "He was hopeful he'd get an exemption to go back for the game". Sorry but no, that is just pie in the sky crap. You had to go home and miss the game, that's fine, but don't lie to us, just own it. You were never getting an exemption to go back, it was not going to happen.

If Seb is cracking it over that Cairns stuff then I think he needs to be reminded that he has been paid 100s of thousands of dollars by this club, and that his performances over the past few years have at many times been average and sometimes very poor. If your feelings got hurt because someone questioned the decision, oh well get over it. His missing that game probably cost us the finals. Now I'm not saying it's his fault or that he should not have missed the game, but I can understand why people questioned it, and I think he should understand it too.

It just makes me wonder if he is the type of player that we need going forward. The woe is me crap is just over the top from one of our highest paid players. If he loves the club he will sign on a deal that is truly worthy of his performance, because he has been getting paid massive overs for at least two years now.
As a leader of the club he should never have wanted to leave.
I believe he should have most certainly been given permission to go however.

the fact Seb ross is a leader and ex-captain of the club says a lot about where we were at as a club at his peak.

Any sauce?
No
But proper jungle drums
With Lukiodis potentially on the move
and the lack of contract extension being signed by Ben (he would have committed by now) and whispers of unrest with the players at the suns and Dew (cwilson has eluded to the fact that if dew isn’t replaced this year they will loose players, 3 weeks in a row) it makes sense we would try to strike this year. Why would you give GC another 12 months to get into his ear..?
Strike while the unrest and mediocrity is real.
I think there are some posters on here who know more in this space but arnt sharing.

That's a good point. Ben could have one foot out the door, and then the Suns announce Clarkson as coach... everything changes.

Players who have moved on

Carlisle / retired
Dunstan / new club
McKernan / retired
Roberton / retired
Frawley / ?
Lonie / ?
Ross / ?
Hunter / ?

Would love to see them all gone.

Add:

Our Recruiters have NAILED late picks and can refresh our list with skillful, talented youngsters. So do that!

That's the first gif in a long while that I've laughed at repeatedly. Gold!

Christ the very idea of Marc Murphy being at our club is giving me the Morning After shakes, and I haven't touched drugs in years.

He makes Seb Ross seem like Stephen Milne. MegaVanilla

The tense in your gif is wrong.

This is it exactly, can't believe the revisionism of Dunstan that he runs both way.
That is the most LOL worthy comment of the night.
Someone the other day said we should have put him on Danger to stop him [emoji1787][emoji1787].
Almost choked with laughter. God I wished that had done that, it would have been hilarious.
Come to think of it the way Dangerfield ran about with no opponent perhaps they did put Dunstan on him [emoji3]

Classy giving him a kick out the door. Maybe you have to hate on him because it helps you deal with him leaving but while may not have been a star you won't get anyone say a bad word about his character.

You don't quite understand how these other guys play. Watch guys like Brodie, they are good players but when their side has the ball their energy and run are good, as soon as the ball turns over they drop their work rate. It's the reason Hunter Clark isn't a first picked mid every week. He has all the skills but has to develop that side of his game.

Custard Murphy is stodgy vanilla that makes you feel like spewing.

Ben King would look good in a 7 Guernsey
Imagine the marketing with the kings 12&7 on their backs both facing away looking back at the camera…!
Wowee

Seb Ross could be the worst decision maker on our list.

His kicks inside 50 nearly always end up with the opposition marking it or a behind, he handballs to team mates just behind them so they lose momentum in their running and he always looks around trying to blame others when something bad happens.

Had a good final last year but his good performances are too few for mine. I honestly think he hurts us more with his decision making and skills than he helps.

Hoping tomorrow is his last game for us and then we trade him in a win/win situation and he finds success at his new club.

It's one of our most decorated numbers. It has to go to a gun. Can we suspended it until someone earns it? ;)

Why did your boy get #7 then?

That’s right up there with the club giving #1 to Stephen Bloody Newport after Barks retired.
