I know this is saying a lot in this forum and it is not recent but I see a young Voss in the way he moves and plays. If we were going recent I would say Rowell, but faster.

He is in the top 2 prospects at the moment.

Not overly keen on him (probably better than BColeman though) but would we have any fringe players they'd be keen on?

Straight swap for Joyce could be an option for them (via rookie draft), if they need more young inside midfielders from WA.

I think possibly the Gold Coast would be a more suitable home for Cameron Jr though IMO, given the fact that he would have a better chance of making their Best 22 compared to our starting lineup.

I hate reading the trade stories. So much click bait stuff, scenarios I'd tear my hair out over if they eventuate.

I'd be really surprised if we actually try to replace Eric for a year. It's not that I don't like the idea of a replacement in the short term if that was possible. I just don't think a cooked 32 year old Casboult or Mason (when the ball hit's the ground he's as useful as Krusty's superfluous third nipple) Cox offer anything close to like what Eric can.

IMO we're just better off trying to trade to bring in Fort as Big O insurance, and develop what we have already to help mitigate the absence of Hipwood.
I understand.
Although I am not sure Fullarton gives us what we need for our game plan
It is bang it into forward 50 and hope a 50-50 brings the ball to ground.
Joe and Fullarton do not really crash pack to bring the ball to ground. Good teams also intercept balls coming in against us.
Hipwood and McStay did.
Hence I really think we need a short term fix for Hipwood.
If we not looking outside the team. Then Andrews or Payne will have to be used
Fullarton has great skills, great when the ball hits the ground. Although even in the VFL you really do not see him take many contested marks or crash packs.
Defensively he is better then Joe.. Although I have him as a similar type of player

I think what you are describing is plan B where plan A is really to isolate Charlie or maybe Joe and give him space. In this case Fullarton is to clear space and work up to the wings which works ok.

Plan B with slow ball movement is to just not stuff around with it too much and get it forward where we have numbers even, or slow it down and set up defensively so we can lock it inside the forwardline

yes although some games we play plan B a lot if they take the centre run from us
Not sure only McStay as someone to smash a pack is enough.

We start getting picked off on inside 50's
Dogs game 14 more inside 50's which got picked off.

Jarrod Cameron has shown he can kick goals and apply forward half pressure at AFL level. I'd be keen on finding a spot for him provided they're aren't any other issues

I think the bigger issue against the dogs were that our inside 50s were 40-50m out from goal

Also if our defence played as well as theirs did we would have won

West Coast need young mids. They probably need young players on every line.

Not much room in our reserves for a young small forward with the likes of Ah Chee and Blake Coleman struggling to crack our best 22.

Though a fully fit, pre injury Jarrod Cameron is an upgrade on Blake Coleman.

That's an interesting comp, you've seen more of him than I have but in his highlight plays he looks a lot more damaging than Rowell, maybe not as contested and strong but more explosive, agile and classy.

So we have a young Black in McCluggage and soon a young Voss in Ashcroft. Is Bailey our young Akermanis?
Personally, I can't wait until we see some real young Akermanises playing for our AFLW team.

I wouldn't regard Ah Chee as a small forward, more of a utility now days, but even so, from an admittedly small sample, a fit Jarrod Cameron would be a reasonable upgrade on him as a forward. Concerns are clearly injury (mostly fixable) and attitude (more problematic).
