Neale and 18 for 6, 8 & 27
8, 14 & our future first to GC for pick 3 and their future second

We end up with 3, 6 & 27 and keep our second plus gc second for ashcroft next year.

Time to start going trade crazy again

And we thought trade season was going to be a dud.

Is there any indication that Parker has any interest whatsoever in coming to the lions?

He has interest in being paid commensurate to his ability, which is excellent. Definitely worth a phone call.

With his build he could be one of the toughest mids in the game.

Definitely tough, but whether he has what it takes is far from certain. Playing midfield requires a level of 360 awareness and split second decision making that is definitely much different to playing with the majority of the game in front of you, with your role centered around one opponent.

Any other experienced guns that potentially want out of Victoria?

If this is true then Neale is gone 100% this year. I don't believe we are the type to follow through with a threat to keep an unhappy person at our club as it results in a negative energy that seeps through a club. The only reason he might stay is if Neale said that it didnt bother him or Julie if they stayed for an extra year as long as the club gets a good deal but i think this unlikely.

If Lachie's deal was front-loaded will there even be enough for Parker?

It was reported earlier in the year (with probably questionable accuracy) that Neale's deal was "middled" with the peak being 2020. Regardless, I suspect it's still a relatively smooth contract structure given the numbers involved.

The longer we wait the worse the deal gets. He'll be 29 next year and has had a down year with injury issues that he hasn't really faced in the past. Another year and he's 30 and who knows how he goes next year or how his body holds up. Just gotta bite the bullet.

I was expecting a very quiet trade period, maybe some pick swaps to get into the top ten, not getting rid of our best player. Atleast it's not like the treloar situation where they were forced to take unders for him.

Yeah nothing like Treloar. He's of the Mitch/rich/Raynor loyalty brand.

One day after our exit from the finals and we have FOUR trade/draft threads. Best time of the season. Who needs premierships. Bring on the Trade period.

Are you sure? I know you posted that before the news tonight, but have you changed opinions as a result?

Unfortunately, my confidence was based in the belief that the idea was just an absurd BigFooty rumour - so no, I have no inside info. I think it's quite clear this is happening now.

At the risk of being unpopular this poster places the blame squarely on you, PattyKwasagun

We won’t be trading Lachie for less than 6 & 8 (forgetting any later picks or pick swaps back the other way). Either Belly does the deal or his hat will remain featherless.

I'm happy to be anybody's scapegoat if it makes the pain a little more tolerable.

Well, it's no fun if the scapegoat willingly takes it.

It's also a Simpsons quote, mate. No malice.

Can we turn Lachie into Cripps? Once we got the weight of his current teammates off him, he'd go ok.

No, thanks. Was an absolute gun but I struggle to see him not getting worse every year with his body issues.

Cripps moves like a 35 year old.

No interest in mitchell either, less dynamic and same type as Neale.

Parker probably unlikely but would add serious, serious grunt.
