Delaware North (catering company) are 800 staff short. Gonna be like this for a while, until the international students come back.

In fairness the AFL media were calling for crowds of 80k plus for the first two fixtures which was pretty ambitious but they publicly stated it.
Potentially they were doing it to drum up support and promote the game but when it doesn’t eventuate it’s a fair comment from the poster above to say not great.
The 4% dont want to work ever! Why not get the unemployed to work ?
Sorry for a Thursday night with covid still around that is a GREAT crowd! The crowds will not get back to pre covid for sometime.Hmmm. Not great again.

It was a RECORD for a Melbourne Dogs H & A match and I think a lot of people are forgetting both the Dees and Dogs historically don't have massive supporter bases and the Dogs for some reason decided to not turn up as it seemed the crowd was at least 70% Melbourne.Yeah they're poor numbers. Probably shows how that game relied on the novelty of being the opening game to get that extra few hundred thousand viewers. Otherwise it's just a run of the mill game.

I was talking about the Carlton v Richmond game, which was well down on previous years when it was the opening game.It was a RECORD for a Melbourne Dogs H & A match and I think a lot of people are forgetting both the Dees and Dogs historically don't have massive supporter bases and the Dogs for some reason decided to not turn up as it seemed the crowd was at least 70% Melbourne.
A Wednesday night would have also have a negative impact as many younger kids would not have attended also!
Given a GA sellout, assumption being reserved seat rollup was at a low rate. My guess is there’s a sizeable portion of members, with season seats choosing not to go due to covid or being more inclined to watch at home on TV. Habits have changed. Members have retained their membership packages but may not go to as many games as they did pre covid.40,129 According to BT
Cats v bombers probably around 51,000 then? Surely it still cracks the 50k.Given a GA sellout, assumption being reserved seat rollup was at a low rate. Presents challenges moving forward. A sellout at Marvel with only 40,000 in the house is akin to what Essendon has experienced in recent years as it’s season seat sales increased.
Either way, we’ve now seen 3 attendances well below expectation which infers the game hasn’t yet returned to pre covid levels from an attendance perspective.. As expected tbh.
I was at the game in GA and it was absolutely packed. But then looking across to the reserve seat areas and there were plenty of gaps. The Medallion Club is the worst offender. I’ve never seen it full and it just takes up far too much space. Really wish some of those bays can return to regular seats soon. They get the best view of the game so would sell and currently are a major barrier to there ever being proper sellout crowds at Marvel.Given a GA sellout, assumption being reserved seat rollup was at a low rate. I’d say that’d be about it. Cats home game takes 5-6,000 off the number too. No trains running on part of the Geelong line as well.Cats v bombers probably around 51,000 then? Surely it still cracks the 50k.
Agree. The best yardstick was the ~63,000 that went to the equivalent fixture in 2019, also Cats home game. Reasonable to say the crowd was about 20% what would’ve likely been the expected crowd pre covid. Round 1 and all, in normal times you’d have hoped 65,000 would rollup today.Pre Covid it would of been 65K
