Weren’t lemmey and Scully both rated 1st round early in the year?
Saints saving some money by getting bigfooty to do their recruiting
Keeler, Foster, Scully, Lemmey all still on the board if we're after a tall. Surprisingly, still Szybkowski too.
No - just meant he was still on the board, after being a rd 1 prospect not so long ago.Szybkowski is 186cm. Is there two of them in the draft?
Again, strongly disagree. Those are exactly the kinds of players who lose their defenders through burst work, or working off their opponent through strength and endurance... Newman would be stuck catching his balance as they stream into space. And yet Melksham and Elliott destroyed us.
He couldn't have done any worse than how we played them.
Newnes? Also, you're chatting to someone who never really liked Stocker as a defender, and believes he would have found out the required standard in midfield by getting to play there. The two blokes who cost the games in the coach's opinion were delisted immediately. One was a whipping boy of yours ( and others) and the other fancied himself more than team orders - and couldn't run 400 meters after 4 -5 years in the system.
big surprises not to anyone who actually watches games.
We've got a body of 10 or so games tells you that's a horrible call.I'm hoping Cowan replaces Williams at HB and Williams becomes a Mid/Fwd. His bullet passes into HF is exactly what we need.
Best news of the draft so far. He's not eligible for Adelaide to match. They didn't nominate him.
I'm active in the thread, I've commented, you can search by username.More keyboard experts….
Who did you want us to draft Mr Guru and know all??
Enlighten the board and then run for it actually and make a move on Brian Cook while your at it.![]()
Because we're drafting for the AFL, not the state 1500m finals. We needed run, we got it. Why are people still sooking?
Picking mates in the state that they live in is an afterthought, that hopefully has nothing to do with this decision. What is more likely to occur is the recency bias of being exposed to Binns more as they watch Hollands, and in turn seek to bring that wing/HB partnership up to AFL level.Harsh Jimmae. And pretty poor. Don’t know enough about Cowan beyond his highlights, but Pommy loves him and he watches everything. I liked the look of Binns when I watched him in the Vic Country and Metro game. From memory Holland and Binns are best mate as well which creates cohesion. But I’ll never convince you. No one ever has.
His dad played for both clubs.Regarding Hotton, without knowing any background info..
Why would both Carlton and Collingwood who have been linked to him all year, not jump on him in the late second round after he was rated initially in the top 20 by most pundits and experts?
Both clubs had multiple chances...I'll leave it unsaid but maybe there is something going on that the clubs are privy to and we aren't.
I’m not a Hotton fan but others - you bet.I’m not a draft watcher but based on the general consensus here I feel like most would be stoked if we had of had the saints draft. Philipou, Hotton, Van Es, Keller
It would be an interesting comparison in a few years - safe selections VS X factorsSaints have gone all xfactor types
Go out in the backyard and kick the fence mate.Hustwaite is midfield or bust IMO, but I think the Hawks have done amazingly well here.

Look, coaches should get a say, but this loud mouth s**t was Voss' problem at Brisbane, and this boring s**t was Agresta's problem at Sydney. I understand that we have speed on the list if things go well with Cuningham, Honey, Philp, Williams and maybe Kemp go well... but historical evidence is very much not in our favour.
What's the point of getting better kicks if no one can separate from their opponents effectively? We hoping to leap over the top of everyone and get 40 contested marks a game?
This screams sabremetrics modelling, but what the * is the model and are they aware they accidentally used VFL data to make a determination?

I've been convinced plenty of times, but I'm staggered that not many here can see the value for our game and our list when it comes to players like Hewett, Busslinger, Clarke, Burgiel. There's some reasons to trade up, and I imagine West Coast would have been happy to have a conversation.
His dad played for both clubs.
They desperately need 'superstars', so can't fault their draftingIt would be an interesting comparison in a few years - safe selections VS X factors
Yes lolIf we don't pick a KPD I'd be worried, but the melts will be worth it.
