I think a swap of 2023 1sts and North's 2nd rounder could get it done.I reckon we don’t get much back if it is 10/11 we trade in for. That’s the risk we take I suspect
If it’s more mid teens then hopefully we don’t even use our first

Carlton will back themselves in to improve IMO

Got a feeling Phillipou will go to one of Essendon, hawks , saints earlierIf it turns out to be Phillipou surely the swap will be with Carlton for next years first. They indicated they would be open to trading 10 - and hard to see Phillipou getting out to 14 plus

shit i hope they do but they wontNo team is taking McPherson
Pity SoS ain’t there, really like that thinking though.I think a swap of 2023 1sts and North's 2nd rounder could get it done.

Essendon might be looking closely at Jye ClarkGot a feeling Phillipou will go to one of Essendon, hawks , saints earlier
The other thing is the media has just presumed cats will take Jye Clarke but maybe they don’t
Yep and PhillipouEssendon might be looking closely at Jye Clark
FTFYTurner is happening

Yep and Phillipou
I like the look of hewett too more than the others TBHYep, agreed.
Another player we might look to trade out our future 2nd for Elijah Hewett, 185 cm mid/ forward, tipped to slide. I would anyway![]()
So with McPherson and Seeds to the rookie list, does that leave any rookie spots vacant for say Turner?
now just need him to tank some final interviewsDid I not tell you we would be attempting to get back into this draft if a deal can be done at the right price for 2 players of interest, mind you it won't be both.
so add reading to your logic and comprehension that’s performed backwardsLol. I almost fell for it until I saw this.
Forget Phillipou .....no needs to get a case of premature expectation .....nasty thoseSo effectively, if Phillipou slides we could trade in to get him. If we do, it will be him and MM + 1 DFA or rookie pick
If not, there is one other player we are looking at we could trade in for, so player X and MM + 1 DFA or rookie pick
If neither happens, it might be MM and then 2 rookie picks?
Does that sound right? Trying to get it clear in my head because I know my dad will ring tonight to ask!
Don't understand why Crouch wasn't the player delisted .....surely we're not pandering to his ego, on the back of his recent seasons & him looking at trade options .....I feel for McPhersonSeeds will get there, McPherson could tempt a team to leap frog us.
He's in the right "clique" at the clubDon't understand why Crouch wasn't the player delisted .....surely we're not pandering to his ego, on the back of his recent seasons & him looking at trade options .....I feel for McPherson
The Coach's clique ??He's in the right "clique" at the club
Barnett .....going to be OKpersonally dont see a player in this draft at that range i would take this risk on...
Exactly. Good points made well. For Sanders to pluck this one off Horks situation is truly grasping and more than a little embarrassing :That depends on where you want to measure the "rebuild" start and end.
We had some higher end picks in '18 and '19 but didn't play a young team either of those years, and didn't really go hard at turning over the list until the 2019 off-season.
I'm not sure when hawthorn starting turning over heavily, but for the sake of simplicity, lets say that the rebuild is based on when the team is no longer in finals.
From 2002-2006, Hawthorn missed finals 5 consecutive years, and won 41 out of 110 games. In 2006, they won 9 games with a percentage of 86%
Crows 2018-2022, won 40 out of 105. In 2022, we won 8 game at 87%.
Do I think we will make finals in 2023?
No, we're probably too young, even if Nicks was decent. I can see us playing finals in 2024 though, and if we don't Nicks will be gone if he isn't already).
Can't really compare ourselves with the peak that Hawthorn had but in terms of progression and finals i think we're only one year behind.
Of course Hawthorn also brought in Hodge and a priority pick, plus had the potential goat coach.
Has our rebuild gone smoothly? No.
Have we screwed it as badly as you're pretending?
I don't think so, but it's actually still too early to tell. But it's certainly not time for panic stations.
