Never said he was hopeless just couldn’t see that he was anywhere near being a 1st rounder
Saw an article today in herald sun saying that clubs see him in the late 2nd round / early 3rd region which makes way more sense to me …. Overall think Verall is the better value although would like it if he grew another 2 cm

BARNETT THE BEST RUCK
This year’s draft isn’t flush with exciting young ruckmen, but clubs who are shopping around for a big man to develop are keeping a close eye on South Australian Harry Barnett.
The 202cm giant from West Adelaide is the standout ruck prospect in this year’s draft and looms as a potential late second-round or early third-round selection.
“He’s a bit inconsistent but his best is pretty good,” one recruiter said.
Barnett’s follow-up work around stoppages has caught the eye this season, while he has also shown an ability to impact up forward on occasion.
Barnett played three games for South Australia in the under-18 national championships, averaging 11.7 disposals and 14.7 hit-outs.
He also featured in two senior SANFL games.

I suppose we need to find a developing ruck and a pick in the late 20-30s in this draft wouldn’t be too much of a cost. I’m just thankful they’ve finally decided to look for one , it’s a joke during a rebuild we don’t have one
Re Barnett - Just hope we don’t use next years 2nd rounders especially the kangas one
Happy to take him but not overpay , as the article says this years draft not flush with exciting ruck prospects

Will depend on where Barnett is likely to fall .....can see anywhere #18 - #28 .....which would necessitate us overpaying with our F2, not NORTH's

......that would suggest though, a lot of Clubs rating Barnett poorly, in this DraftI like Barnett, he has good athleticism and a nice height but i cant see the Crows picking him.
It would be a massive change of tactics for us to get a ruckman before the rookie draft

You haven't been very complimentary of him either.
I don't think I have seen anywhere that he is going first round.
I reckon he might go somewhere the 20's
A lot of media and amateur draft watchers had him late 1st round like eg the rookie me guys , he’s an ok ruck worth pursuing late 2nd/3rd round
Although I think Verrall is just as good if not better

Where do you think Verrall goes in the Draft ? .....or will he be a rookie selection ?
FWIW I like Barnett as a 25-30 selection, if it means giving up a single second rounder (preferably ours but I don’t really care in the scheme of things), I’m all for it
I like Verrall a lot too, I’m more in the camp that Verrall is underrated rather than Barnett is overrated. They’re pretty close I reckon, with Barnett a bit ahead
