Heard about any clubs that have ? Will be a nice get on back part of draft
Hawthorn, St. Kilda, Sydney, West Coast, Fremantle and Melbourne were the clubs who have talked to him from what I was told. Melbourne might be the least likely as they wanted further medical info on him after his OP issues earlier in the year. Apparently they're hoping he'll go later in the national draft, but sounding like teams won't be looking at him until into the 40's (again this was all from a few weeks ago, so things could change) and worst case (for him) scenario is he slides into the rookie draft. Some concerns on his ability to develop a forward craft apparently.

Not too much wrong with the prodigious leap/athleticism and overhead marking/field kicking there.
I worry that a lot of the impressive stuff in Verrell's highlights - winning the hitout and crumbing it himself - he'd never get a chance to do at a higher level.

It's hard to know what he'd do in a higher standard competition.

Looked ok forward when he played WA in nationals , more than ok

His endurance is an issue , has the excuse of the OP , maybe that’s a concern too

Sounds like he has plenty of interest , getting taken in 40s is likely for him

Always makes me confident in a player if Sydney like him , they don’t get much wrong

Yep ..forget the winning it after the hit out but look at how pure the leap and hit out is to start with

Backed up by his elite vertical leap measurements at combine - both standing and running vertical leap results were top 5

Nope, it's been a feature of his game from U16's omwards, he's far and away the best follow up ruck in this draft and by a fair margin.

I suggest you check out his clearance numbers and stack them up against ruckmen drafted in the last few years.

40’s is late in this draft

Was told he was liked the idea of going to Sydney since Matty Roberts was drafted there last year and he's mates with him. Honestly don't think he's bothered where he goes though, he just wants to play footy.

Sure - not saying it hasn't been a feature of his game so far. I just don't know if that particular feature carries over to senior footy.

Doesn’t need to it’s more the work before the clearance that transfers although he will also get some follow up clearances as that’s also a strength (admittedly under more pressure )

Sydney makes sense , they desperately need rucks

How is it any different for any draftee?

Verrall is as well performed as any rucks in this draft, undoubtedly he would have played every Nationals game if his fitness was up to scratch at the time.

We currently have 5 spare list spots and can take 3 in the national draft.

For every one of Seed, Moose and Turner we plan to relist in the rookie draft, we gave up one of those picks (first from the rookie list).

We have kind of committed to taking each, but it didn't seem iron clad. We could also take Turner in the pre season draft with the list spot freed up by placing Seed back on the LTI list.

does LTI list window open up in the off season? Would be a bit strange.

Seeds should retire.
Salary cap wise he need to stay in the list until the list lodgement date then will retire early next year in order for us to sign another player before the season starts. We couldn't afford to pay out his contract this year as we're already paying out Brown's
