Nunan?I was at that game, South were in front and playing well when North' coach shifted Jars from the midfield to full forward during the 2nd quarter from memory and he slaughtered us. Mike Patterson the coach maybe?
1st semi at AO. I was there with my Dad.

So if this is correct, culling or trading 4-6 players to free up list spots to attack the draft/FAs is going to be challenging - particularly for main list spots if Butts (R) & Strachan (R) must now be upgraded and there are no increases in list sizes.
You would hope that Hinge, Gollant and Parnell (R) are now almost locks for an extra 2 years. Rowe, Himmelberg and Frampton are now first team regulars, each with some upside. Walker would be worth one more year if his body stands up. Some argument can be made for Nankervis, Borlaise (R) and Newchurch (R) being retained for another year.
Unfortunately likely list cloggers McHenry, McAsey & Hateley (and maybe Fogarty & Murray (R)) are all contracted for 2022 or beyond, as are fading stars in Milera, Brown, Crouch, Seedsman and Sloane.
I find it hard to see how we can free up anything more than 3+1 this year, particularly if Seeds and Sloane don’t retire. 2023 currently shapes as a much easier clean out at season’s end.
Footy Wire's info on Davis is incorrect - he's a UFA, having previously been delisted in order to move him from the senior list to the rookie list.Footy Wire: Adelaide OUT of Contract 2022

COVID list restrictions are supposed to finish at the end of this year. Then again, we were told that they'd only be here for 12 months (2021 season). The AFL lies all the time.I would ask the AFL for extra list spots, if they don’t do it for the whole comp.
We only have two decent picks left dont we?Footy Wire: Adelaide OUT of Contract 2022

We should look to trade milera and crouch. If milera finds some form and puts in a good 2nd half to the year he may have a team like gold coast interested to take on his contract or a major part of it. Same goes with crouch, maybe north might have a look at him. I'ts unlikely he would have any interested parties though. Fogarty wil likely be traded for a 2nd rounder, one can dream I guess. More likely a 3rd or late 3rd. McHenry is another I would trade if there are any interested parties. With all our wingers I would also look at trading Sholl as we have too many in that position. McAsey is one I would try to trade early if any takers(unlikely). I don't think we will get much more than a late 4th or 5th rounder but it would free up a list spot. I would also see if there is any interest in ROB and trade him if there is. Strachan is a better first choice ruck imo and then we could trade in a backup end of the year. I'm not sure why Soligo was given such a long extension unless it's a very cheap deal. If Seed doesn't get back to full fitness that might be a payout which may free up a spot.Footy Wire: Adelaide OUT of Contract 2022

I believe it’s only one, considering we decided to take Nankervis in the PSD (for the main list) instead of the rookie draftFooty Wire's info on Davis is incorrect - he's a UFA, having previously been delisted in order to move him from the senior list to the rookie list.
It's also worth noting that list sizes SHOULD return to normal at the end of this year, giving us 2x free senior list positions that we can fill, without needing to delist anyone.
Someone like Rowe or Frampton could also be demoted to the rookie list. That frees up a spotThere's a good chance Seedsman retires.
Davis will be delisted.
Butts and Strachan upgraded.
I reckon Borlase gets delisted.
Frampton could still flop and be delisted. Unlikely though.
I wouldn't be surprised to see us try and trade one or two players like McHenry, McAdam, Worrell, Fogarty.
It will be interesting if we have a player target in mind.Someone like Rowe or Frampton could also be demoted to the rookie list. That frees up a spot
Plus Borlase has been our best KPD in the SANFL this season thus far.Borlase and Newchurch are cat b rookies, so delisting either would not open up an extra spot on the list.
Newchurch & Borlase are Cat B rookies. We have 37+5+2.I believe it’s only one, considering we decided to take Nankervis in the PSD (for the main list) instead of the rookie draft
We currently have 37 + 7 rookies, I believe (Murray, Parnell, Butts, Newchurch, Borlase, Strachan, Davis). That’ll need to be shrunk to 6 at year’s end if things go back to normal - that’ll be helped by the requirement to elevate both Butts and Strachan
Good point - Butts & Strachan will need to be upgraded, as both will hit the maximum time limit for being on the rookie list. There's a good chance Seedsman retires.
Davis will be delisted.

We wont trade McHenry or McAdam, it will be Worrell and Fogarty given both will struggle to get games this year. There's a good chance Seedsman retires.

We should be banging on Mitch O'Neill's door right now...Ideal Rory Sloane replacement and another player that is a very good kick.It will be interesting if we have a player target in mind.
In the past few years (even pre-Covid), we’ve liked to go with 44 players on the list, even counting Cat B’s. If/when list sizes are expanded again, I suspect we’ll go with 38 + 6 (whether that be a 4/2, 5/1 or 6/0 split)Newchurch & Borlase are Cat B rookies. We have 37+5+2.
Every team will get an additional 2 senior list positions to fill, when list sizes return to normal.
We've always had the maximum number of senior + Cat A rookies - which is normally 44, but was reduced to 42 for 2021 & 2022.In the past few years, we’ve liked to go with 44 players on the list, even counting Cat B’s. Back when we had Keath/Greenwood as cat B players, we still opted to go with 44 players on the list (38 + 4 + 2)We've always had the maximum number of senior + Cat A rookies - which is normally 44, but was reduced to 42 for 2021 & 2022.
The fact that we've had 2x Cat B rookies during the COVID list years is coincidental, nothing to do with any desire to have 44 players on the list.
It's quite possible (likely) that we could have 46 players on our list next year - 44 on the senior/CatA lists, 2x CatB rookies.
Why should he ??We wont trade McHenry or McAdam, it will be Worrell and Fogarty given both will struggle to get games this year.
