Port. They're desperate for a forward after passing on Ben King in the draft.
They passed on a KPP, Ben played both KPD and KPF and thoughts were divided where he might end up playing be it back or forward. The problem with his forward craft at draft time was considered to be his set shot goal kicking, very hit and miss.

Might be getting your Kings mixed up.

Ben's a much better kick, 89.54 for his career

Nope, I watched both lads play for the Sandy Dragons, on occasions live, Ben was very hit and miss especially closer in to goal, better from long range.

The teams that passed on the King brothers would be kicking themselves, with the exception of Carlton who have good tall forwards already.

Rankine and Luko ahead of Max King and Rozee ahead of Ben King are looking like draft night howlers.

So... here's the list of AFC player trades (both in & out), according to the draftguru website. I've listed the players involved, but not draft picks.

I was at that game, South were in front and playing well when North' coach shifted Jars from the midfield to full forward during the 2nd quarter from memory and he slaughtered us. Mike Patterson the coach maybe?
1st semi at AO. I was there with my Dad.

Pretty sure that's not the game, I'm almost certain he kicked 10 against us in another game where he was switched from midfield to full forward during the game and absolutely lit it up.
Yes there were two bags of 9, he absolutely dined out on South in 1990. 23 goals in 3 games.
Must have been on the Panthers version of Jamie Shanahan.

Interesting that Freo fans are jumping for joy over the Will Brodie salary dump trade with GCS. Brodie has been starring for Freo so far this year as a tall inside midfielder and they picked Pick 19 in last year’s draft for a future second.

Disappoints me that we don’t seem to hunt these sort of left-field trades that while somewhat risky can offer high value, particularly while we have salary cap space.

Brodie would have likely been a ready-to-go, significant upgrade for us over Hately. Of course we would have needed to have used Pick 19 well (doubtful) and cut a couple more fringe players or not drafted Rowe/Nankervis.

Hately was the right move for us at the time especially considering what we paid (nought).
The fact he was drafted as an inside mid but had not been given the opportunities in that role at GWS it looked to be a great move to pick up a former big bodied 1st round pick with it all in front of him.

It's disappointing that he hasn't come on as expected but I guess there's still time for him to measure up.

The crows and Himmelberg are in an interesting position. If he continues with current form, his next contract will be much better, maybe another club will give him more dollars and years. I wonder what the club does with him?? Do the crows offer him a deal soon or wait til the end of the year and see who’s interested, all the while offering an average contract to present we still want him

A lot may depend on how Thilthorpe comes on and Tex's status at year's end?

Gollant is the interesting one contract wise heading forward.

Fogarty is looking less and less like the answer unless the penny drops with him soon that he needs to work much harder to get involved in general play.

Tex will play on I think, his form warrants it as well. We need to give Gollant a contract as he is so different to the others. If Rob doesn’t improve, we may throw him into ruck and let him run around. It may be a way to play him but not forward yet

Fog needs to look for more opportunities elsewhere in my eyes, he just doesn’t work hard enough, I don’t see him succeeding. Everyone said he wasn’t fit enough but it doesn’t matter if you don’t put in effort and provide an option when the half backs are running out of defence . He just stood still and did nothing.

Bit early to suggest Tex goes on

We have seen he starts strong and then hits a wall. With careful management he may stretch out 1 year - but is it time to manage and develop other avenues?

I was always worried about his pace, we got him for free so not a cost apart from a list position.
I can't see him in our future plans but who knows?
