I saw this format on the West Coast board and thought it might help understand our current list position

We'll play Finals in 2024 .....a few posted during the year, we were another 5 years away from Finals, and have to do another rebuild ......seriously, this is pure emotion talking after losses

We're a couple of building blocks short (players) .....and another 30 games of experience

Unfortunately this is true. We’re a couple of years iff competing for the bottom parts of the 8, which was always the goal of the rebuild - back into the 8 ASAP. We’re another and proper rebuild away from a genuinely competing in the top 4 for multiple years.

Surely the Crows would do that deal. It has to be a bullshit rumour. Why would Doedee's stock be high now? Good player but he wasn't at his best this year.

North need some experience, particularly down back. As interceptors/ defenders they have Stephenson and Hall

I think the Crows absolutely would do that deal - but I don’t think Doedee would. And you couldn’t blame him

Very hard to make the top 4 without making the 8 though

Also as I’ve said before - we aren’t collingwood …. We haven’t got 8-10 guns over 28 years old like they do so we can’t just bounce straight to top 4 . There’s going to be way more ups and downs

we can EASILY cover the loss of Doedee.. we just about already have with Worrell.

and Doedee has, if we are honest, had a poor year.

they probably sat down and talked about it and said “nah, our midfield is already stacked and we will have sloane back next year..”

Have you watched ROB at SANFL level? Comprare apples with apples.

Strachen's 2 games at AFL level - one he was quite good, the other he was smashed.

That's not to say he's not good enough, but ROB is a better ruck, despite his limitations. 5.5 HO to advantages for KS compared with 11 for ROB

Tend to agree, people taking to much from Strachen at SANFL level. He will improve but O'Brien is the better player at the moment.

1) Crows have approached North about JHF. North said only way they will budge is for Doedee + this years first. Crows said no way and will have another go next year when/if he's out of contract.

And if this is true then I fully expect our members to burn our HQ

If we get him end of next year so be it. Ive been waiting 25 years for us to truly reach the top, what's another 12 months.

And what if we don't get him because he has had a breakout year or because the Kangas improve enough for him to believe. Perhaps he matures a little. Perhaps he starts to enjoy yhe Melbourne lifestyle. The crows stagnate or regress?

I would suggest at the price allegedly offered waiting would be a big gamble. It's not like Doedee, in his natural game, is a KPD despite our attempts to make him play like one. You can find another one like him somewhere. Elite mids wanting to come to SA are hard to find.

I agree that we need to throw the kitchen sink at him now. If he decides to come home next year or after another contract, we may not be in a position to trade for him and he goes to Port. Must be ruthless and strike now.

Unfortunately there will be more waiting. I think about another 5+ years till we are a genuine flag threat.

Reality is that we're a club that believes that we're in an amongst it and only need a couple of tweaks at the fringe. We'd not try and force Sloane out to get JHF, we'd believe that a straight swap would destroy our club. Our performance requirement is to let ROB cruise to a dropping after half a year of puss and then play 1 game of high input at the lower level and then get locked in till the same time next year.

This is us, our morons believe that the group we already have plus swapping pick 5 for a talented forward pocket completes the rebuild. All planning is around finishing 8th next year. That is us and it won't change until every single skerrick of Neil's legacy is excised from the place. You can't win without talent Neil, that's the lesson that we learned from our flags.
