What's the point of him saying anything?
I don't think there's a single thing that anyone on this board would agree with, whether it was reasonable or not. It's a pointless discussion.
What is his upside? You haven't specified it at all, just that apparently he has it.
He still panics. He gives away too many frees and fumbles. I think those are areas he has instant upside as they are mental parts of the game.
He tackles, chases, hits the contest hard. His disposal has improved, as has his goal kicking. And apparently he is a decent runner (I think I heard a commentator mention it one time).
These are areas he has upside in by using his strengths better for the team.
But people hate Keays too, so I guess if they aren’t at Jarman, McLeod, Goodwin, Edwards, Modra levels … we should delist?
I'm genuinely interested in another point of view. Maybe he can see something I can't. His response sounds heavily emotive though and not really based on logic and reason.
They need to bring in 3 guns. Why would they get rid of a gun to get another one in?
Makes no sense.
If we decide that these guys are better options than Michaelany or Keeler, then we have a second round pick this year., plus future picks we could trade into this year. What picks do we have to throw at them?

Levi Ashcroft is 2024 no hurry required there. They need to bring in 3 guns.
Dunkley
Ashcroft
Ashcroft (apparently another one on the way)
They need to trade for Dunkley because he is contracted.
Ashcroft will be a very high bid. That's a lot of points required.
There is a squeeze coming, you just have to know where to apply the pressure.
Ah I thought he was 2023.Levi Ashcroft is 2024 no hurry required there.
It should be simple for them. They need to bring in 3 guns.

Jaspa fletcherDont Brisbane have someone to match around the 15-20 mark also?
Have no picks left for Fletcher then.It should be simple for them.
Trade future first for Dunkley.
Use their first pick this year for points for Ashcroft.
Have no picks left for Fletcher then.
They are going to need to get creative.
Don't forget they also have to be able to pay all these guys. Dunkley won't be cheap.
A decent offer of $700k for Bailey might be well out of Brisbane's ability to match.
That would give us a future midfield of:
Laird
Berry
Soligo
Schoenberg
Taylor
Cook (wing hopefully - still have high hopes for him)
Then half forward/mid rotations of:
Rankine
Bailey
Rachele
And NONE of Murphy, McHenry, Rowe.
That's a hell of a list to build on.
I'm dreaming I know, but hell, it's the off season, what else am I meant to do?
If I was them I'd forgo Fletcher than lose any players you mentioned.Have no picks left for Fletcher then.

Yeh, but I want him.If I was them I'd forgo Fletcher than lose any players you mentioned.
Dreaming if you think Bailey is gettable.
JHF is more realistic and even he's a long shot currently.
I'm a big yes for that one. Offers a significant point of difference for our team - especially as Smith strugglesI wouldn't be averse to putting a very nice contract in front of Keidean Coleman. He's now proven he can play at the level and would provide speed, defensive tackling pressure and elite ball use...all of which we need desperately. Would be a nice little payback for Cameron...
I think Bailey is great, but have doubts that he will ever be a full time mid. When we will have committed a lot of resources into in Rachele and Rankine (not to mention Ned), that's a lot into a type of player when we need genuine mids.Have no picks left for Fletcher then.

I don't think we have the list spots to take on a spud as well as pick someone with an extra pick. Now that the AFL has approved salary dumps we should be on the market for one.
We could take on some spud and maybe get a good 2nd rounder in the process

Dunkley is out of contract hence the Dogs don't have the bargaining power they had when the Bombers came calling. They need to bring in 3 guns.

Suns supporters are already losing their minds with Rankine leaving lol.How about pick 5 & 2023 1st for Rankine and Hollands
I know its tongue in cheek - but it certainly would solve our midfield problem at the same time as getting Rankine
Because we were using it to get a better compo pick for Crouch, pick 2 (3). I would've picked Hollands personally. If onlyAFL were ropeable at us and the Saints when we tried a salary dump move a few years ago.
