Hamish is so far up his own arse that he wouldnt even realise the unbeleivble irony in that comment..Hamish on Turner: “As a player he offers a point of difference for our midfield in he has good speed and lateral movement and can go left and right foot out of stoppage." Whos fault is that Hamish?

185 is medium/small size for a mid these days.. they are getting up around the 190-195 mark now days..
But we are still stuck in 2017… still thinking we need a mosquito fleet because thats what beat us in the GF..
Which has clearly completely ducked with the clubs hea
Just looked - Oliver is 187cm...Wines 187cm...Sam Walsh 184cm...Jack Steele 187cm, so at 185cm he is hardly a midget. Anyway, like I said I know nothing about him as I never watch SANFL....hope he isnt awful..thought though we should have picked up Voss with the second pick..did actually watch the state game and thought he was great and a ready made replacement for Brown...Average height for a midfielder is ~184 cm.
There are a handful of tall midfielders, but they are the exception, not the rule.
We wont see many more of those young listed players you speak of play in the midfield.. you watch the 25 year old plodder take their midfield minutes!.We have enough listed players that we still need to see play. Melting over a mid season draft is quite funny.
Perfect opportunity to get 2 of the best available young talent in given we are in rebuild mode... & this.
Whose spot is he taking? He'll probably come in and be our best mid.
I think everyone that is doing a bit of an El Guapo.
Could it be that once again you are angry at something else …

Definitely not Keays, laird or crouch’s spot..Whose spot is he taking?
Think the decision rests with the recruiting department, not coachBlame the coaching staff. Grabbing a mature age midfielder reeks of them desperately trying to find ways to get marginally better now. The long term doesn’t exist in their eyes. Cooked
Yeah but he played well against us so we cannot pass him upJesus. He’s not even in the top 2 mids at Glenelg.
The coaches have a massive say in the mid-season draft.Think the decision rests with the recruiting department, not coach
Whose spot is he taking?
Well played Sir .Whatever happens, just don’t select Turner at 4 and pass at 19
This 100%. Should have gone a ruckmanIt baffles me.
KPD
Butts - a lock
Murray - Questionable at best
Frampton - not the answer
Borlase - untried and undersized
Worrell - Undersized, better suited to mid-sized
KPF
Walker - nearly finished
Thilthorpe - Promising, but questionable as a key forward
Fog - Undersized. Questionable at best
Himmelberg - Nope.
Gollant - a 3rd tall, not a key position
Ruck
ROB - Useful when at 100%. Awful once he is below that.
Strachan - Good skilled, but already at the age he should be ready and is still easily pushed away.
Thilthorpe - Probably his best position. Not ready though.
That's it. There is nothing else.
I can't believe that not one of the players available have enough upsize to at least give a go for 18 months. At least 3-4 of those listed are clearly not up to it and need to be cut.
Would be totally ridiculous to pick a midfielder tomorrow, we already have a conga line of young midfielders that can't get any meaningful midfield minutes. Throwing another joker into the mix for the last 11 games is pointless. Grab the best KPD available and just bloody play him in the senior team, we've seen what happens when we have no Butts - would also free Doedee up a bit not having to defend someone 10cm taller than him every game.
Having said that I expect the AFC to select a slow mid that will play 2 games in the forward pocket before the season ends and we pass on our other selection.
We should have a poll on what people expect us to do - not what we should be doing.

Having developing rucks is also great currency. Clubs are very willing to trade for a 24-28 year old ruck. Port have done this very well over the years. This 100%. Should have gone a ruckman
