Rankine and JHF are young so you would be swapping picks for them so technically drafting them (in particular JHF), Grundy would be a salary dump so Collingwood won't be asking for much let alone our 1st rounder.Like how posters want all these stars or future stars from other clubs , not understanding if actually got a Rankine or JHF or even Grundy there goes our first round pick at the least .
The only way can get a player from another club without costing good picks is if they are a free agent .
I believe should go with the draft but maybe take gamble on a cheap addition like able to do with Keays and Hinge .
If JHF was available in this draft we would take him with our first pick every day of the week, no issue with giving up a first rounder. Shit I’d consider giving up two if we got something back. He’s that good.Like how posters want all these stars or future stars from other clubs , not understanding if actually got a Rankine or JHF or even Grundy there goes our first round pick at the least .

What value would Grundy add that in anyway makes him worth a first round pick?If we could get JHF,Rankine and Grundy.
I would be happy to give up our 1sts this year and next.
Lord knows, we are more likely to butcher these picks or poorly develop the kids we got.

Oh Im not saying we give away Grundy for anything like that. What value would Grundy add that in anyway makes him worth a first round pick?
After being super durable for most of his career, Grundy has now had two relatively serious injuries in the past two seasons, and his form, although not bad, has not been what it was. Massive red flags of a big man who’s body can no longer take the punishment IMO.Oh Im not saying we give away Grundy for anything like that.
Just that the overall haul of the collective players we could get like JHF,Rankine,Michaelanny and Grundy, would ease any suffering from losing 1st rounders.
Grundy assuming he doesnt have any long term injury issues, still has the capacity to regain form and he has an awesome chance to improve his value in the last few games of H&A and Finals to show that.
It wont effect our draft hand taking Grundy, it would be taking on his contract which will be the biggest issue. After being super durable for most of his career, Grundy has now had two relatively serious injuries in the past two seasons, and his form, although not bad, has not been what it was. If we take Grundy’s contract on we should be making our draft hand better, not worse.
Fair, I guess my argument is that there is already too much risk regarding his injuries, even if he comes out and lights it up in September and comes back super fit.It wont effect our draft hand taking Grundy, it would be taking on his contract which will be the biggest issue.
Look as I said the caveat would be a medical and how he performs in the next few weeks as to whether we should or shouldnt entertain him.

It's a salary dump, no way would a first rounder from our end be involved and I don't think anyone has even floated this.
Grundy costs nothing in draft picks.
Taking Grundy now will cost us a player in the future, around about when we should be aiming to contend. Whether it’s from not having the money to retain a gun young player coming off a breakout year, or chasing a gun player to fill a hole. It will hurt us.If Grundy has a strong end to the H&A season and Finals series, you definitely 100% at least entertain the thought of getting him for "noting" if its just salary cap.

That’s before you even factor in that we already have a ruckman on a long term contract who is underperforming relative to said contract.

Zero chance.I really doubt Grundy is interested in returning to Adelaide anyway.
Just going to have to settle for Rankine and JHF, oh well.
Zero chance.
I guess we have to accept the slops of Rankine and JHF, lol.
In all seriousness, I do hope we have provided a substantial offer to Rankine that is hard to turn down.
We lack talent. Add those two and in 2023 that won't be the issue.Zero chance.

Now you're just being silly. No one would do that to themselves, flag or no flag.If we land those two I'll get the raptor tattooed to my forehead Manson style.
Goldy hasn’t missed since 2017, and has missed six games since 2012.Goldstein getting long in the tooth...

If we don't develop and just miss finals it will be clear coaching is the issue.
Trade Doedee to make it happen if need be.

Unclear whether Seedsman plays on.
North have so many issues, if they dont get Clarko, Goldstein could coast till his 40s, lol.Goldstein getting long in the tooth...
Id prefer to use the cap on a mid.If Grundy has a strong end to the H&A season and Finals series, you definitely 100% at least entertain the thought of getting him for "noting" if its just salary cap.
it was round 7 against north in tassie when the tagging beganIt was half way through 2017 when he showed he couldn’t beat a tag.
What's Grundy got to do with us trading ROB to North?Goldy hasn’t missed since 2017, and has missed six games since 2012.
Grundy has missed 16 in two years and has had two fairly major surgeries in that time.
