People on here saying trade Doedee are smoking crack. He is one month older than Jordan Dawson. Both are 25.

Both are part of our next push up the ladder. Dude needs a reset over summer and to find form again.

Into Cox and have Sam Weideman on the radar too.

Can't see this happening if we're getting Rankine, especially given Cox is contracted
Freo have a glut of KPD’s though dont they?.. and need a KPF..

we have Himm who they are apparently looking at if you believe the rumours.

maybe theres a trade in there somewhere thats currently being nutted out..

I mean I'm all for getting Cox, just don't see how it's really all that realistic for us to get him in while he's under contract. They'll want more than the early 2nd round pick that Ch 7 suggests

If we get Cox what does that mean for Butts or Murray? Also Worrell is only 1cm shorter, needs bulking up but we’ve got time in a rebuild, he’s shown enough in his 2 games that he’s got the talent to make it with experience

I like Doedee and he is super courageous and a good player. Having said that I don’t believe he can play the 3rd tall intercept defender role as well as Worrell.

The Carlton game was a great example - Doedee would have been completely outsized when matched up against DeKonig and McKay whereas Worrell had the height size and athleticism to hold his own.

So Doedee could become the 4th defender or he could be one of very few valuable trade chips we have left. If it meant getting JHF or another “elite” mid then I would be surprised if the club didn’t consider it.

Cox more of a rebounder than Butts/Murray. Worrell I think stays in that 3rd interceptor role, he's a desirable size for that position anyway (Doedee too short)

Weirdly enough I think Butts would be more at risk as it currently stands, as Murray's gone ahead of him as a 1v1 stopper IMO

i’ll be disgusted.. totally and utterly disgusted if they dont give newchurch another contract.

I reacon Newchurch in a forward line getting mentored by mcadam, tex, fog and Rachele/rankine (whilst these two themselves are alternating between forward and midfield) would have a shitload of potential and would bring the absolute best out of the kid.

and yes, as you said, his type of speed and evasiveness is something we have been lacking for a while now.

kid kicked a really nice goal on the w/e..

That's nice.. cleared the goal line with ease. If we lose him to Geelong I'm going to spew.

We saw how good Butts was last year and yes his form has been down, but I’d like to see a third year before looking to replace him. We are still in development mode and he’s still a raw KPD.

Weideman makes sense if Frampton and Himmelburg are leaving.
Plus we really are looking for someone to replace Tex when he retires.
McAsey ain't it.
And Thilthorpe might be best suited being our number one ruck.
Tyler Welsh won't be AFL ready (all things going well caveat) until 2026 at the earliest.

early second round pick AND Himmelburg for Cox sounds fine to me!..

Wouldn't mind seeing him tried as a wingman. We haven't had a wingman with that sort of zip in a long time.

I would personally move Hamil to the wing as well for his own safety. The backline is way too dangerous for him now.
