Watch Clark out of contests, in those clips ....he has no pace off the mark, out of the contest

I understand junior track-watchers being excited, based on his U18 games .....it simply hasn't translated to senior footy though .....quicker AFL pace catch's him out

Even today, there was radio discussion on St Kilda, about who their "Stars" are, going fwd ......not even a mention of Clark
Skippos Jeffcrowe ......doesn't appear SAINTS are concerned enough to lock Hunter Clark away longterm

YOUNG SAINT ON CLUB RADARS

ST KILDA midfielder Hunter Clark is expected to be a trade target of clubs this off-season despite having a year to run on his contract at the club.

Clark is signed to the Saints until the end of 2023 but has battled an injury-hit past two seasons, playing eight games this year and 13 last season.

His 2021 campaign was interrupted with a broken jaw that came after he was on the end of a contentious bump from Adelaide's David Mackay, while this season he suffered a shoulder injury in the pre-season and then a broken nose mid-year after a heavy clash in round 16.

Maybe we won't look at trading out our 2023 first round pick for Rankine ?? ......getting interesting now

CLUBS EYEING 2023 TALENT

CLUBS will look to trade out of this year's draft and invest picks in the 2023 crop with a bumper group looming.

Recruiters are buoyed by the under-17 prospects who have starred at different levels across the country this year, so much so that many clubs will see if they can swap picks in this year's draft for future selections in the 2023 intake.

There is genuine star quality at the top end of this year's draft pool and then an evenness of names beyond that which some scouts feel will trigger clubs to try and bank extra selections in the draft next year.

Yeah or maybe our next years 1st should be an even bigger selling point for Suns...

Like they've said, there's genuine star quality at the top of this years draft, and Ogilvie/Reid have already said we're looking at trading future picks to bring talent in earlier and accelerate the rebuild. We can't continually look at the shiny things coming through next year and trading away our current picks.

Pick 5 should be off limits.

Me reading these

Another season like this (or worse) and Nicks is gone.

I guess we'll need to see wholesale improvement from the trademark "played well for two quarters but still lost by 40 points" efforts.
I can't see that Nicks will be gone by any means. The likelihood of him being sacked is hugely exaggerated on here imo. The club seems very happy with him.

what does that passage even fxxkin mean?.. just nonsense..

”touching on the midfield”
”probably started to see some of that”
”whilst we’re looking to outsource that”

WTF??… outsource what?.. and what the fxxk have they touched?..

our midfield is easily one of the worst in the comp.

North’s (the bottom side) midfield is more promising than ours. I really fear these delusional flogs think the rebuild is pretty much complete..
There is likely a difference between the 'public face' that they put out there, ie we're improving, heading back to finals, rebuild nearly done, and what they say internally.
I've heard Tex, Sloane and even Ricciuto say in the back half of the year that we need to get more quality into the midfield.
Having said that, I do think that they believe that, while it's not complete, we're only a few players away from being complete. I would say 5-6

Unfortunately, I suspect the comments from Tex, Sloane and Roo were more about wanting their mate Matt Crouch in the midfield than about any grander plan.

There's being complete in terms of players, and being complete in terms of the development of those players. Remember that very few of our players have yet reached 50 games. The players themselves are very much a work in progress, not just the playing list as a whole.

Not gonna lie, I’d look to really target him if he comes cheap-ish

Classic ‘buy low’ situation

This data doesn't paint 2nd round picks in a good light .....what the figures do demonstrate is, very few players picked from #6 onwards make an immediate impression .....6.8 years on average to hit 50 games

Hence my mantra ......patience !

Good, means we can sell high

Imo, he is a year too early as we have too many players under 50 games.
Can't wait, the magical 50 game mark where players suddenly go from being hard at it spuds to elite decision makers and elite users of the ball under pressure. McHenry about to break through the magical barrier - woo hoo, this is what Silvers is seeing!

After watching last weekend, I'd rather have under 40 game players like Chad Warner and Errol Gulden!

Taking a helicopter view should help us identify synergies and break down silos. I feel a restructure coming
In all seriousness, whilst I do value trying to communicate well, I think AFL people who communicate like this are showing a weakness.

Innovation tends to come from people willing to, to a degree, go their own way. People who go with the latest communication language trendiness and groupthink indicate, to me at least, they'll be a lot less likely to be innovators.

Greg Williams...
Don't know how old you are but Geelong didn't get rid of Diesel Williams, he left for a chopper full of Edelston cash! That was some raid on the Vics by Geoffrey, about 8 or 9 high quality players back in the day you could just go out and buy a new team, like Carlton did mid 80's, Norf in the 70's
