One of those guys can knock Keays back down to the SANFL..
Simply won't happen .....Keays is better than what you think ....kicking doesn't define his game, effort & grunt do ....and you need those types in Finals

Mind you, you can only have a couple of poor kicks in the 22 .....another way of putting it, Sholl can't get a game & he's one of our best kicks

So fiction becomes fact?

AFL paid nuffies pull a name out of thin air toss it around and it becomes a thing?
I highly doubt it .....there's obviously some smoke down Moorabbin way

They're still young and inexperienced .....still need to have some experience in the side ...albeit mental & physical

So is what Clarko proposing at NORTH wrong ? .....adding another 2-3 experienced players ....when 2 years ago NORTH's strategy was to cut super deep and play just kids
The thing with Turner though is that while he's older, he's only just coming up to 100 SANFL games himself, so it's not like we are recruiting James Gowans.

I understand the thinking, but I'd have though that Freeman could offer the same 'experienced body' and at least had some AFL attributes we needed in terms of his speed.

Personally, I'd have gone for someone like Seb Ross or Sam Menegola last year as a trade if that was the direction we wanted to go. Both reportedly on the trade market, would offer 'experience' and not cost a lot.

LOL

AFL media tossing some names around and you take it as Hunter Clark looking for a trade....

I read the Duursma rumour too.

Freeman's head was not in being in adelaide IMO and did it out of desperation - realised and pulled the pin

You think so?
I think he pulled the pin because I'd guess we told him he wasn't on our MSD radar?

I think most Club's Freeman has trialled at, have overlooked him now .....yes, what you're suggesting is viable ...maybe the issue was having to use a main list spot to attract one of Ross / Menegola .....Turner, as someone pointed out, if he gets a Contract, will in all probability be a Rookie spot

Ross / Menegola weren't transferring states for a 1 year Contract .....if they were in fact prepared to re-locate

Don't want to give away too much 2023 draft capital when we will likely have a fair turnover of players.

Sloane, Seedsman, Brown and potentially Tex retiring.
McPherson, McAsey and Crouch delisted.
Doedee possibly leaving as a FA.
Worrell, Sholl and Strachan possibly looking for more gametime.

We don't want to be heading into that draft with 8-9 list spots free and only a small draft hand.

We really should be moving several of these guys on now.
If Doedee does decide to leave then I can't see Worrell also leaving for more game time, as he would be easily starting 22 without Doedee there. I can see them both playing a lot of games next year anyway.

We also have a few kids in the SANFL who should be pushing hard to force their way into the starting 22 next year. Taylor, Nankervis, Newchurch, Cook should all be around the mark by the end of next year. So losing most of the guys you listed wont have a massive impact on our rebuild I don't think.

I agree with that too but what I mean is it was only in desperation to cling onto hope of being on afl list that he came to adelaide anyway. as soon as that looked remote all the talk of just "wanting to help a young list" dissipated very quickly.

The point wasn't the impact that their departures would have on our rebuild - it was our lack of 2023 draft resources for filling the list vacancies created by their departures.

The question is ....why would Hunter Clark be looking for a trade ? ....and why hasn't St Kilda locked him away, past 2023
Not unusual for players contracted for 2023 yet to be looking for a new deal... often waiting to during their final season of the contract.

My argument is Hunter Clark is not a star player many believe he is .....clubs don't let star players go into their final contract year, without attempting to lock em in
He was a quality player before he got injured.
